Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate the occurrence of breakdown by discharge by eliminating the loss of a discharge current restraining function by an internal conductive film on a neck part inside surface when discharge is generates after a cathode- ray tube is completed by drying the applied internal conductive film so that a crack is not caused. CONSTITUTION: Drying of an internal conductive film 7 composed of an applied slurry-like conductive material (neck carbon) is performed by heating by an infrared ray lamp 10 to the obverse side of the film 7 and heating by an infrared ray heater 14 to the reverse side of the applied film 7 crossing a neck part 1 from outside of a tube body. Drying air to generate convection by air is supplied onto a surface of the internal conductive film 7 by nozzles 15 and/or 16 together with the heating.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformalize the phosphor filling density and to reduce the injection amount of phosphor slurry, by rotating a panel in the positive and the reverse direction to form phosphor film, after injecting liquid phosphor material on the inner face of the panel. CONSTITUTION:A rotating head 2 is made rotatable in both positive and reverse directions. A phosphor slurry of such as sulfide or rare earth materials of about 40cc per one panel is injected on the inner face of respective panels 1, and the head 2 rotating in a speed of 10rpm is rotated one turn in the positive direction and one turn in the reverse direction repeatedly to coat the phosphor slurry on the inner face of the panel to form a film. As the result, thin film areas in corner portions can be eliminated to provide an uniform phosphor material film. That is, the phosphor materials can be uniformly coated on the inner face of the panel, and especially the color purity (white conformity), an important screen quality characteristic for color picture tubes, can be improved significantly, and about 30% of phosphor materials to be used per one panel can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reuse a viscous solution, which is excessively applied to a treatment body to be coated and flows down from the body, without requiring troublesome processes, to effectively use the viscous solution, to lower the waste liquid treatment cost, to lower the cost of products for which the viscous solution is used, and to contribute saving of natural resources. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus has recovering pipelines 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 to recover an excessive portion of a viscous solution 3 and turn it back to a tank 2 for application, and dust removal and defoaming works are carried out during a process in which the excessive portion of the viscous solution 3 passes the recovering pipelines.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To shorten developing time, and enhance quality and a manufacturing yield of a cathode-ray tube layer by developing a phosphor layer under a specific condition after a phosphor paint film is formed and exposed when manufacturing a fluorescent screen to form the phosphor layer on the inside panel surface of the cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION: For example, a photosensitive film by PVA or the like is applied to a inside panel surface of a cathode-ray tube, and it is dried, and is exposed by ultraviolet rays, and is exposed, and after a resist layer is formed, carbon slurry is applied, dried, reversed and developed, and a carbon film is formed, and next, phosphor slurry of a first color (for example, a green color) is applied, and a phosphor paint film is formed. Next, after it is dried, ultraviolet rays are irradiated to a position where a phosphor layer of a first color is to be formed, and after it is exposed, developing processing to remove an unexposed part of a panel skirt part is performed by using developing water (for example, puree water) having pressure of 0.6MPa to 3.0MPa. Similarly, after a phosphor layer of a second color (for example, a blue color) is formed, a phosphor layer of a third color is formed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform, thick carbon film over its full face in which film thickness of a peripheral part being an invalid screen area is sufficiently obtained by drying a carbon slurry applying film by warm air of a prescribed temperature and flow rate stirred by rotation. SOLUTION: An infrared heater 4 and a warm air blowing nozzle 7 are disposed in opposite to an inner face of a panel 2. A heating heater 9 is wound around the nozzle 7 in an air supply tube 8, high-pressure air 10 is introduced, and by which a warm air 11 is blowed from the tip end of the nozzle 7. Further, while the panel 2 is rotated with a shaft 3 being at center thereof, a carbon slurry applying film 1 is heated by an infrared-ray heater. Simultaneously, the warm air of 80 to 150 deg.C in temperature and 50 to 80l per minute in flow rate is blown to a peripheral part 5 in the panel 2. Thus, drying of the carbon slurry applying film 1 is performed by warm air stirred by rotation, and a peripheral thickness being an invalid screen area is sufficiently obtained. Consequently, a uniform, thick carbon film is obtained over a full face in the panel 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent latent scars from being generated on a panel and to prevent frit parts of stud pins from being dissolved so that excellent washing is performed, by spraying a panel with high-temperature steam to swell an intermediate film and spraying it with mixed acid and washing it. CONSTITUTION:On a defective fluorescent screen 2 on which a metal-back layer 4 is formed, high-temperature steam 12 is sprayed from a nozzle 13. Spraying this high- temperature steam 12 allows an intermediate film 3 of the metal-back layer 4 to swell. Successively, mixed acid 5 consisting of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid is sprayed on the defective fluorescent screen 2. Because of the intermediate film 3 swelled in advance with the high-temperature steam 12, the mixed acid 5 can easily permeate into an interface formed between the fluorescent screen 2 and the panel 1. Thus, the interface formed between the panel glass and the fluorescent screen 2 is dissolved. Then, water rinsing 6 for the fluorescent screen 2 is performed through a fan-shaped nozzle. This water rinsing 6 allows the fluorescent screen 2 to be peeled from the panel 1 so that a washing process for the panel 1 can be completed. Hence, latent scars 7 can be prevented from being generated on the panel 1 and the frit parts 9 of the stud pins 8 are prevented from being dissolved so that excellent washing can be performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out in succession the processes of rinsing, shaking a rinse off, and applying and collecting a photosensitive solution and to prevent the rinse from being mixed into the collected solution. SOLUTION: This device has a rinse ejection nozzle 22 and a viscous-solution ejection nozzle 7 provided in such a way that they can move toward and away from a rotating panel 1; has a viscous solution collecting vessel 8 provided in a position where an extra photosensitive solution 3 overfIowing from the panel 1 can be collected; is provided with a rinse collecting vessel which, when approaching the panel 1, collects the solution overflowing from the panel 1 by preventing the solution from being collected into the viscous solution collecting vessel 8 and which when moving away from the panel permits collecting of the solution by the viscous solution collecting vessel 8; and causes the rinse ejection nozzle 22 and the rinse collecting vessel 24 to approach the rotating panel 1 for rinsing and for shaking the rinse off. Thereafter, the nozzle 22 and the collecting vessel 24 are moved away from the panel 1 while the viscous solution ejection nozzle 7 is made to approach the panel to apply the photosensitive solution 3, with the extra solution collected into the viscous solution collecting vessel 8.
