Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the spot size (spot width) of an electron beam becomes larger at a peripheral part of a screen, which causes deterioration of resolution of a displayed image when an attempt is made to reduce the thickness of a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube comprises an electron gun 6 and a voltage supply means. The electron gun 6 incorporates control electrodes for controlling the electron beam emitted from a cathode, and a pair of correction electrodes 10A, 10B located closer to the traveling direction of the beam than the control electrodes and disposed such that the electrode surfaces are located on both the right and left sides of the electron beam traveling through the control electrodes.
