Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a running cost, by a method wherein a mechanism is not made into a large scale. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge 1 is arranged by turning an exposed part of a ribbon upward. A platen 6 is arranged on the undersurface side of a ribon 2 extended between a ribbon feed port and wind-up port of the cartridge 1. A printing head 7 is arranged on the top side of the ribbon 2. At the time of printing, printing paper 9 is fed between the undersurface of the ribbon 2 and platen 6, only the printing head 7 is moved in accordance with a printing action by a feed mechanism 8 and printing is performed. The cartridge 1 is not required to be moved, the cartridge can be enlarged without making a mechanism into a large scale and a running cost can be reduced drastically. Since the printing head 7 is arranged on the upper side of the cartridge 1, even if the cartridge 1 is enlarged and made into a horizontal feed printing method, the title printer does not become unstable structure and a space factor is not worsened also. Printing can be performed on the top of the printing paper 9 and a user can confirm immediately a printed result.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the adapter capable of recording or reproducing a different discoid recording medium in diameter with the disk device for such a medium without taking out the discoid recording medium from its disk cassette. CONSTITUTION:A cassette housing part 31 for housing the disk cassette for 8cm CD is provided in a case main body 201. A shutter opening lever 32 is provided on the rear part side of the housing part 31. The size of a tabilizer (upper part side disk pulley) 212 is made to be corresponding to an opening part of the disk cassette for 8cm CD. Other constitution is made similarly to a caddy for 12cm CD. At the time of housing the disk cassette in the housing part 31 of the adapter 30, a shutter plate 203 of the disk cassette is pressed by the opening lever 32, and is brought into its completely opening position when the housing is completed. Under these circumstances, the disk cassette is loaded into the disk reproducing device for 12cm CD with its disk pulley diminished in diameter in corresponding to the opening part of the caddy for 8cm CD, and the medium is reproduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To always apply uniform tension to an ink ribbon regardless of the running direction of said ribbon and to prevent the deterioration of the ink of the ink ribbon, by making it possible to shake a tension imparting means even when an ink ribbon cartridge is turned out to use either one of the surface and rear of the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:When the surface of a cartridge is used, a thermal head 26 is inserted in the second head insert part 4 and a tension imparting means 30 passes the mount part 5a of a mount plate 5 by the force of an ink ribbon 14 and shakes in the clockwise direction around the axis E vertical to the mount plate 5 to impart tension to the ink ribbon 14. When the rear of the cartridge is used, the thermal head 26 is inserted in the first head insert part 3 and the tension imparting means 30 is shaken in the counterclockwise direction around the axis E by the force of the ink ribbon 14 to impart tension to the ink ribbon 14. Since a roller 36 is rotated with respect to the contact surface of the ink ribbon 14, there is no possibility of deteriorating the ink of the ink ribbon 14 by friction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To favorably apply a tension to an ink ribbon without damaging an ink-coated surface, by pressing an elastic member disposed near a payout-side reel against the back side of the ribbon by a columnar body, irrespective of the direction in which an ink ribbon cartridge is fitted to a main body of a printer. CONSTITUTION:A leaf spring 35 which applies a tension to an ink ribbon 39 when being pushed outward by a columnar body 66 is pressed against the back side of the ribbon 39. Therefore, the ink-coated face side of the ribbon will not make frictional contact with the spring 35, and the face side of the ribbon will never be damaged. When printing is again conducted by refitting an ink ribbon cartridge to a carriage 61 in the state of being inverted upside down or face side back after completion of a printing operation, a leaf spring 36 near a reel 38 on the ink ribbon payout side is pushed by the columnar body 66 of the carriage 61, and is pressed against the back side of the ribbon 39, whereby a tension is applied to the ribbon 39, and favorable printing is conducted without any slack of the ribbon. In this case, also, only the back side of the ribbon 39 is pressed, so that the ink-coated side of the ribbon is not damaged.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To apply a tension to an ink ribbon through a simple construction by providing a tension-applying means for applying a tension to the ink ribbon through being moved in a direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the ribbon, at a central part between a pair of left and right head-inserting parts. CONSTITUTION:A slider 50 and a spring 56 constituting a tension-applying means for preventing an ink ribbon 29 from slacking apply a tension to the ink ribbon 29 in a direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the ribbon 29 in the vicinity of thermal heads. Therefore, a uniform tension can be obtained irrespective of whether the face side or the back side is directed in a predetermined direction, and favorable printing with no slacking of the ribbon can be constantly performed. The single tension-applying means comprising the slider 50 and the spring 56 can cope with both of ink ribbon feeding in one direction and ink ribbon feeding in the other direction, so that there is no need for providing the tension-applying means for each of the feeding directions of the ribbon, and accordingly, a simpler construction is ensured.
