    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker system that can allow a user to listen to a radiated sound excellently at all times independently of the operating mode and is provided with an operation means so as to be surely and simply operated even by one hand when the speaker system is in use in the vicinity of the user. SOLUTION: A 1st face (face b) of a case of the speaker system 100 is configured such that when the 1st face is used for an installed face in contact with a reference face such as a floor or a base on which the speaker system 100 is installed, an angle between the installed face and a sounding face (face s1) of radiated sound is selected to be a 1st angle (right angle), and when a 2nd face (face s3) different from the 1st face of the case is used for the installed face, an angle between the installed face and the sounding face s1 is selected to be a 2nd angle (acute angle) different from the 1st angle.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the speech signal output of a decelerated speech speed easy to listen while securing synchronization with a displayed video without causing incompatibility. SOLUTION: The converter is provided with speech speed specifying buttons 21 to 24 which are used to specify a speech speed of output audio signals, a speech speed converting means 122 which converts input audio signals to speech signals having a slow speech speed, a buffer memory 14 which is provided with a capacity equivalent to a delay time within the delay time without causing incompatibility with the displayed video when the input audio signals are attended to video signals and control means (121 and 123). The control means control the speech speed converting means so that input speech speed signals are converter to audio signals having a speech speed with a preset speed deceleration rate corresponding to the speech speed specifying button when the operations of the buttons are detected. When there exists empty space in the capacity of the buffer memory, the speech speed converted audio signals are written into the buffer memory and successively read out as output audio signals. When no empty capacity exists in the buffer memory, audio signals not subjected to a speech speed conversion process are outputted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily package an optical integrated circuit into small-sized constitution with high accuracy by chucking the upper-step part of a prism and to evade damage to a prism principal part or semiconductor substrate by providing step parts on both sides of the prism. CONSTITUTION:The mutually parallel step parts 56 are formed on both sides of the prism 15 arranged on photodetectors 13 and 14. The section of the prism 15, i.e. prism section intersecting the line connecting a semiconductor laser 16 and the photodetectors 13 and 14 at right angles is in a projection shape. Consequently, the projecting upper-step part of the prism 15 is chucked to package the optical integrated circuit to small size and a chuck means contacts none of the principal part of the prism 15, photodetectors 13 and 14, and semiconductor substrate 12 where other circuit elements are formed and the damage can be evaded.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the accident of a short circuit due to the sag and deflection of a connecting wire by fixing a wiring substrate joining an electrode for a semiconductor laser element and an electrode leading-out lead to a heat sink. CONSTITUTION:A wiring substrate 10 and an L-shaped metallic piece 14 are interposed among an electrode for a semiconductor laser element 9 and electrode leading-out leads 5 as relay means. A wiring substrate 12 is interposed among each electrode for a photo-diode 13 for monitor and the electrode leading-out leads 5 as a relay means. Accordingly, the length of connecting wires 11 connecting the semiconductor laser element 9 and the electrodes for the photo-diode 13 for monitor and the electrode leading-out leads 5 may be shortened, thus eliminating the possibility of the generation of the accidents of short circuits due to contacts with other members by the sag and due to deflection of the connecting wires.

SOLUTION: A sealing cover 17 is adhered to a base 12 with a temporary adhering use adhesive 21, a frame 18 surrounds the sealing cover 17 and a sealing adhesive 22 is filled between the sealing cover 17 and the frame 18. Thus, the sealing adhesive 22 is filled stereoscopically thick, using the frame 18 for an antirunning, and forming of a vent path can be suppressed at a boundary between the sealing adhesive 22 and the base 22 to obtain high sealing performance. Furthermore, it is not required to apply a weight when the temporary adhering use adhesive 21 or the sealing adhesive 22 is cured, and production of deformations or cracks of the sealing cover 17 is prevented.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a hearing learning with a decelerated speech speed easy to listen while listening a broadcast program in real time and to conduct the learning while a learner confirms the improvement of his hearing capability. SOLUTION: The converter is provided with plural speech speed specifying buttons 21 to 24 which respectively specify plural speech speeds that are located between a maximally reduced speech speed, that is set as a limit of the decelerated speed while one is able to listen outputted speech and the original speech speed of inputted audio signals and are capable of identifying the mutual differences with respect to other speeds, a speech speed converting means 122 which converts the inputted speech signals to audio signals having a slower speech speed, a buffer memory 14 and control means (121 and 123). When the operations of the buttons are detected, the control means control the speech speed converting means so as to convert the audio signals to have the decelerated speech speed that is preset in accordance with the setting of the buttons. The speech signals having a converted speech speed are written into the buffer memory, successively read out and are made into outputted audio signals.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a prism from being pealed off, the characteristic change due to stress to a semiconductor substrate or generation of a defective product by providing a thin part on the semiconductor base side of a stray light absorbing part forming surface, and arranging a light absorbing member on this thin part. CONSTITUTION:On a semiconductor base 1 equipped with a light emitting element 3, prism 2 is loaded and read light 7 is guided from a prescribed surface 9 into the prism 2 and the position relation for guiding the light into the element 3 is selected. Then, the prism is adhered and arranged optically and mechanically by an adhesive agent 6. This prism 2 is formed by extending the thin part 12 along a coupling surface 15 with the base 1 from a stray light absorbing surface 4 on the base side. Thus, even when a light absorbing member 5 is expanded or contracted by a temperature change to setting shrinkage is generated by using thermosetting resin, etc., as this light absorbing member 5, stress is not generated in the prism 2, the adhesive agent 6 and the base 1 since the stress is mainly operated only to the upper surface of the thin part 12 and the surface 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect, in a high S/N ratio, an intrinsic signal by returned light from an optical recording medium by installing a stray-light reduction means in one part of a prism. CONSTITUTION:An optical integrated circuit A1 is constituted as an optical head H for a disk 20 after it has been combined with an object lens 19. In this case, the following are provided: light detectors 2a, 2b formed on a semiconductor substrate 1; a prism 3 which is fixed onto the light detectors 2a, 2b and which is provided with one semi-transmitting reflection face 3a; a semiconductor laser 5 fixed onto the semiconductor substrate 1 in the same manner. A stray-light reduction means is installed in one part of the prism 3. As the stray-light reduction means, a chamfered part 11 is formed at the tip of the semi-transmitting reflection face 3a of the prism 3; in addition, the surface of the chamfered part 11 is roughened. Thereby, it is possible to reduce stray light and to detect an intrinsic signal at a high S/N ratio.
