Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce peripheral parts remarkably by constituting to obtain FM modulated aural signals of desired frequency without using a band pass filter for removing unnecessary side band component. CONSTITUTION:Aural signals L, R from input terminals 11, 12 are supplied to FM modulator circuits 12, 22, and aural signals RA, RB FM modulated using center frequency of F1=1.325MHz, f4=1.775MHz. FM modulated aural signals LA, LB of center frequency of f1, f4 of output of low pass filters 13, 23 are supplied to SSB modulator circuits 72, 82 through a recording side contact R of recording/reproducing change-over switches 71, 81, and SSB modulated by carrier CW of frequency f0=150kHz given from a terminal 1 and FM modulated aural signal RA of center frequency of f2, f3=f1+ or -f0=1.475MHz, 1.625MHz is obtained. Signals LA and RA, LB and RB are recorded on every other track slanted to the direction of running of the tape formed by heads Ha, Hb.
