Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum tracking position at the time of stopping a tape by controlling the quantity of braking according to a tracking error formed based on a reproduction pilot obtained from a rotary head output at the time of feeding the tape at normal speed. CONSTITUTION:When it is expected that the tracking before the brake is applied within one frame period for performing a normal reproduction is stable, the comparison outputs C1 and C2 of comparators 31 and 32 for ATF errors at the time of the normal reproduction are sampled by a sampling pulse SP1, the length of the period when a signal FW/RV goes to 1 according to the sampling value, namely the quantity of the braking is controlled and the tape is controlled so as to stop at a noiseless still position. at least, the quantity of the braking is controlled in such a manner that the ATF error is not deviated from a dynamic range. Thereby, the state in which the ATF error is deviated from the dynamic range and noise is constantly generated can be prevented and a still reproduction can be performed at the noise still position.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a small size and low cost battery protection circuit. CONSTITUTION: The voltage determination apparatus 11 of a voltage detection circuit 3 detects the battery voltage of a secondary battery 1. When the voltage is already at a full charge voltage, the terminal voltage of the positive terminal side of the secondary battery 1 is output to the comparator 31 of a control circuit 5. When the voltage is not yet at the full charge voltage, the terminal voltage of the negative terminal side of the secondary battery 1 is output to the comparator 31 of the control circuit 5. The voltage determination apparatus 21 of a voltage detection circuit 4 detects the battery voltage of a secondary battery 2. When the voltage is already at a full charge voltage, the terminal voltage of the positive terminal side of the secondary battery 2 is output to the comparator 32 of a control circuit 5. When the voltage is not yet at the full charge voltage, the terminal voltage of the negative terminal side of the secondary battery 2 is output to the comparator 32 of the control circuit 5. The comparators 31, 32 compare these voltages with one half of the battery voltages of the secondary batteries 1, 2 so as to turn off an FET 34 when the secondary battery is fully charged, and so as to turn on the FET 34 when the secondary battery is not fully charged.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize tracking, by providing a means which samples a tracking error, and a means which expands a sampling interval to a reproducing pilot signal interval different from a reference pilot signal frequency. CONSTITUTION:By expanding a sampling interval t2 by a sampling signal SP of the period t1 side of an original (tau), the interval side of a sampling hold output SH, where an ATF error descends than ever, is sampled extra, as shown in figure K. And a voltage obtained from a low-pass filter 31 becomes a voltage ED smaller than an EO, and a tracking position is shifted in a delayed direction. Therefore, when the optimum tracking position is shifted due to a step by the mounting error of a head, or dispersion in characteristics, a shift to the optimum tracking position can be obtained by adjusting the lengths of periods t1 and t3 of the sampling signal SP corresponding to the quantity of the shift, and also, noise can be reduced. In this way, it is possible to always perform reproduction at the optimum tracking position.

Thus, at the time of the noncoincidence, the frequency of the difference cannot be maintained to a constant value and consequently, the noncoincidence of the traveling mode can be decided without fail. Namely, concretely, when a reproducing traveling mode is coincident with a recording traveling mode, a traveling mode detecting signal S34 comes to be the level of a logic L always, and at the time of the noncoincidence, the signal comes to be the level of a logic H and a noncoincidence deciding signal S42 is outputted from a deciding circuit 42. Consequently, the coincidence and noncoincidence of the traveling mode at the time of reproducing and at the time of recording can be known without fail.

A capstan motor 5, on which a faster responding tracking survo is applied by the tracking error signal, the gain of which is raised, travels a tape 1 to an objected position where an objected recording track TR on the tape 1 is correctly traced by each of magnetic heads 8A and 8A' and stops it at the objected position by a brake signal.
