Abstract: PURPOSE:To compensate the minimum value of a beam current for a picture receiver using a color picture tube of beam index type, by comparing the index signals between the scanning period and the horizontal or vertical blanking period and controlling the beam current. CONSTITUTION:The DC voltage V96 of an amplifier 96 is applied to a beam index type color picture tube 10 via a diode D1 to ensure the minimum value of a beam current. Both horizontal and vertical blanking pulses Ph and Pv are supplied to a control signal producing circuit 81 to deliver a control signal Q81 that prevents an electron beam from scanning an index region right after the start of the vertical scan. For the index signal Si during the scanning and nonscanning, only the signal voltage with its noise eliminated is detected through an envelope wavedetecting circuit 92 plus switches 93 and 95. Then the signal Si is compared with the reference voltage 97 to be controlled. In such a way, the minimum value is compensated for the beam current of the tube 10 to eliminate the lowering of the contrast for a reproduced screen. Thus the effect of the aging and the change of temperature can be reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a power loss with a switching loss lessened by discharging a transistor, charged basing upon its junction capacity, via a capacitor connected in parallel to a diode. CONSTITUTION:With capacitor 48 connected to diode 29, charge is accumulated in the junction capacity of transistor Tr14 by pulses and then discharged by way of capacitor 48, coil 16a of SR transformer 15, coil 26a of FB transformer 25, and rectifier circuit 3, so that the collector voltage of Tr14 will damp. With capacitor 49 connected to diode 30, charge accumulated in the junction capacity of Tr14 in the half of flyback time is discharged by way of capacitor 49, deflecting coil 22 and S-shaped correcting capacitor 23 and a damper period after it, it is discharged via damper diode 24.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a receiver which can display a plurality of pictures without missing, by using the aspect ratio of a display screen of a picture tube different from the usual, and displaying another picture at the rest part of the display screen. CONSTITUTION:Although the aspect ratio of a normal television screen is 1: 1.33, the ratio of this invention, as shown in Figure, is 1:1.85. In this screen, a main picture 1, in 1:1.33 of aspect ratio is pictured on the left and the 1st sub- narrow-picture 2a is displayed in the range of 0.39 from the upper in the rest part and a blank 3a for channel display is provided, as example, in the range of 0.11 at the lower part. Further, the 2nd sub-narrow-picture 2b is pictured in the range of 0.39 below it and a blank 3b is provided in the range of 0.11 at the lowermost part.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform stable A-D conversion of an information signal of horizontal linearity with remarkably-simple constitution and accuracy at a low speed. CONSTITUTION:An information signal of horizontal linearity is written in RAM100 being A/D-converted by follow-up comparative type A/D converter 70 so that steps can sequentially be changed among lines at the same or close positions on a screen. A signal read out from this RAM100 is D/A-converted by D/A converter 73, whose output is supplied to correcting horizontal deflecting method 90 via driving circuit 28. The horizontal linearity is corrected by deflecting method 90 to nearly equalize the scanning speed of electron beams, so that the frequency of an index signal will become nearly constant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the speed of A/D conversion remarkably while improving horizontal linearity by writing an information signal of horizontal linearity in a memory after A/D conversion, by D/A-converting a signal read from the memory and then by supplying a D/A conversion output to the method of correcting horizontal linearity. CONSTITUTION:Information on horizontal linearity is written in RAM71 after A/D converted by A/D converter 70 made of a sequential comparative type so that it will sequentially be set, bit by bit, from the highest order bit among lines at intervals of one field or a few frames continuing in terms of time. An information signal, read from RAM71, is latched by latch circuit 72 and, after D/A-converted by D/A converter 73, supplied to correcting horizontal deflecting method 90 by way of switch circuit 74 and driving circuit 28. Then, the horizontal linearity is corrected by deflecting method 90 to nearly equalize scanning speeds of electron beams, so that frequencies of index signals will nearly be constant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct the right-left pincushion distortion by flowing the fixed beam current to the picture tube to obtain the information of the horizontal deflection through the PLL circuit then writing the information into the memory to be read and applied to the horizontal deflecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The fixed current is flowed to picture tube 10, and the index signal is detected 21 to be applied to PLL circuit 30. The output of low pass filter LPF34 is supplied to LPF61, and the information of the horizontal deflection is fetched and memorized in RAM63. At the reproducing time, switch 70 is operated through control circuit 80 to read out the horizontal information from memory 63. Then the signal of such polarity as to give correction to the distortion is supplied to right-left pincushion corrector circuit 67. In such constitution, the distortion can be corrected completely, and furthermore the correction is also possible for the right-left distortion caused by the local distortion of the magnetic field distribution of the horizontal deflecting coil. Thus a perfectly square image can be reproduced, and the PLL circuit can be locked completely even with the dark screen to ensure the steady color regeneration.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of the switching regulator by providing the auxiliary transformer to the switching regulator supplemented with the output to reduce the current flowing to the switching element. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary transformer 25 is inserted between terminal 4a of rectifier circuit 3 and switching transformer 15, and secondary winding 26b of transformer 25 is inserted in series to the output circuit of power circuit 20. Thus, the power supplied to load circuit 21 is supplemented by transformer 25 to reduce the current flowing to switching element 14 and thus to lessen the load of the element. As a result, the loss can be reduced and also the current amount to be supplied to load 21 can be reduced, thus increasing the efficiency for the circuit as a whole.
