    Abstract: The iris drive mechanism (1) has two diaphragms (13,15) which are opened and/or closed by a first lever (9) rotated by an ideal gyrator (IG) meter (5) and a second lever (17) in which an engagement hole (17A) with which an output shaft (5A) of the IG meter is engaged, and an engagement pin (17B) engaged into an oblong hole (9B) formed through the first lever, and a rotary shaft (11) to which the first lever is rotatably supported. The first lever (9) is rotated through the second lever (17) by the IG meter. Therefore, when an aperture is small, a resolution of the F number can be increased, and this can enhance the automatic exposure control performance.

    Abstract: A magnetic tape loading device comprises a head drum having magnetic heads, a drum base supporting the head drum, two loading rings supported on an upper surface of a chassis and rotatable in opposite directions, two tape guide blocks having guide posts for pulling out a magnetic tape from a tape cassette and winding it on the head drum, and guide block guide members For guiding the block. The loading rings are vertically spaced in coaxial relation at the outside of the drum base. The tape guide block is supported on the guide block guide members to be movable along a path slanted with respect to the two loading rings and is coupled to the lower loading ring by a connector mechanism, and the tape guide block is coupled to the upper loading ring, so that the two tape guide blocks are movable in opposite directions around a periphery of the head drum in response to rotation of the two loading rings for winding the tape helically on the periphery of the head drum over an angle of contact with the head drum of at least 300.degree. and with a spacing between the beginning and end of a portion of the tape that contacts the head drum corresponding substantially to the width of the tape.

    Abstract: A tape cassette loading system for wrapping a magnetic tape about a magnetic rotary head drum of a recording and/or reproducing apparatus is provided. The loading system includes two tape guiding elements for withdrawing the tape from a tape cassette towards the rotary head drum and their tape guiding track members provided around the drum in order to define a tape loading paths. One of the tape loading path slopes downwardly from a loading stand-by state position. The other tape loading path slopes upwardly from the loading stand-by state position. The movement of the two guiding elements traveling in their loading paths allows the tape to be wrapped helically about the drum. The height drum may therefore be reduced and the recording and/or reproducing apparatus can be made smaller.

The tape (73) can be drawn from the tape cassette (71) by a tape loading means (27a, 27b) so as to be wound around a rotary head drum (18). The tape cassette (71) can be moved, together with the reel discs (3a, 3b), towards the rotary head drum (18), since it is mounted on a slidable sub-chassis (1) on which the reel discs are also provided. This permits the cassette type recording and/or reproducing apparatus to be more compact, while maintaining high tape-running stability and high recording and reproducing precision.
