Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to allow a client to make a request for music data stored in a server and to receive it and play it back. A client program 421 controls the sending of a request signal to a server 401, the reception and playback processing of music data from the server 401, and the display of a GUI performed by a display controller 426, and outputs the music data received by a communication unit 423 from the server 401 to an audio data converter 424. A server program 411 controls the sending of music data to the client 402, and registration of information in a music database 415, a link information database 416, and a ranking information database 417, searches the music database 415 for the requested music data, and sends the music data to the client 402. The present invention can be applied to a personal computer, a PDA, a cellular telephone, a desk-top playback device, a portable playback device, and a simplified playback device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a client to request, receive and reproduce music piece data stored in a server. SOLUTION: A client program 421 controls transmission of request signals to the server 401, receiving and reproducing processings of the music piece data from the server 401 and display of a GUI by a display control part 426, and in the case that a communication part 423 receives the music piece data of a prescribed format from the server 401, makes the received music piece data be outputted to a sound data conversion part 424. A server program 411 controls the transmission of the music piece data to the client 402 and registration of information of a music piece data base 415 and a ranking information data base 417 and the like, and in the case of receiving input of the request signals from the client 402, retrieves the requested music piece data from the music piece data base 415 by referring to a link information data base 416 and the ranking information data base 417 and transmits them to the client 402.

PURPOSE:To attain not only reproducing accompanying tones but also recording songs with one device. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a reproduction, a magneto-optical recording device 8 reads-out MIDI data recorded in the exclusive area for a read-out in a partial ROM disk 804, audio signals are outputted from a MIDI sound source 14 by controlling a MIDI sound source 14 in accordance with the read-out MIDI data by a CPU 2. At the time of a recording, audio signals inputted from a microphone 16 and audio signals outputted from the MIDI sound source 14 are synthesized in an inter-face 12 and then recorded in both area for a reading and writing in the partial ROM disc 804.

SOLUTION: A contents distribution program 174 controls the setting of source selection and the recording of the setting of effect application for the source, controls source acquisition on the basis of the recorded setting of the source selection and applies an effect for the selected source on the basis of the recorded setting of the effect application. A device driver 172 controls the display of an image corresponding to the source to which the effect is applied. SOLUTION: A magneto-optical recorder 8 reads a MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) data recorded in the region only for reading a partial ROM disk 804, and a CPU 2 controls a MIDI sound source 14 according to the read MIDI data, and makes the MIDI sound source 14 output an audio signal therefrom. An audio signal inputted from a microphone 16 and the audio signal outputted from the MIDI sound source 14 are synthesized in an interface 12, and recorded on a two-way region for reading and writing of the partial ROM disk 804.
