Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a video signal processor which is designed to drive under low power consumption by reducing the horizontal line numbers per screen into 1/n (n denotes an integral number more than 2), and by dropping drive voltage of a deflecting circuit by expanding horizontal scan period. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal V1 from a video amplifier circuit 5 is supplied to a sampling circuit 9 and a horizontal line is reduced into 1/3 in number. That is, in the circuit 9, the signal V1 is a three horizontal line period signal, thereby being taken out after being gated only during a high level period of a sampling signal SP which is to be a high level for a period of one horizontal line. Therefore, beyond this level, a signal VS in which signals H1, H4, H7... for one horizontal line appear for each three horizontal line period is obtained. Primary signals R, G and B thus obtained are intermittent signals for each such period and are expanded in time by three times in a time expansion circuit 19.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep off the unsteadiness of deflection in a flat type cathode-ray tube that makes a deflecting signal voltage so as to be overlapped by means of capacitive coupling, by installing an electron beam regulating member between an electrostatic deflecting plate and an electrode at the final stage of an electron gun. CONSTITUTION:A beam regulating member 14 shielding a deflecting plate 9a from the impact of an electron beam is installed between a couple of electrostatic deflecting plates 9a, 9b and an electrode fourth grid G4 at the final stage of an electron gun 4. This beam regulating member 14 is given the same voltage as the side of a deflecting plate 9b given a fixed voltage, for example, the identical voltage VRH as an opposite electrode 3. If positional adjustment for a beam's range by a centering magnet takes place, such a matter that a beam current flows into the deflecting plate 9a can be effectively avoided, and in combination with the fact that centering adjustment can be fully achieved, a beam's landing signal on top of a phosphor screen 3 can be steadily set in a highly accurate manner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct the mis-convergence specific to a color flat cathode ray tube, by changing the potential difference between the 1st and the 2nd electrode in parabola form at the horizontal period. Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively correct the distortion of a beam spot by forming a focussing lens system which weakens the degree of reduction related to the beam that makes landing in the range farther from an electron gun among the beams which are emitted from the electron gun and advance toward the main deflection system. CONSTITUTION:An end face plate 8 is provided on the end of electron gun 2 which is opposed to its final stage electrode, namely the vertical deflection means 7 of the fourth grid G4 and an electron beam penetrating hole 8a is perforated in it. The diameter phi of this penetrating hole 8a is selected to almost the same to the gap, on the beam incidence side, between a pair of electrostatic deflection plates 7a and 7b of a vertical deflection means 7. The gap between the end face plate 8 and the means 7 is selected also almost equal to the gap (d) on the beam incidence side of both electrode plates 7a and 7b. Besides, target voltage V0, for example, 5KV is applied to the fourth gride G4. This can effectively correct the distortion of a beam spot and reproduce a good quality picture without any picture distortion, degradation of resolution, and color shift.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate the asymmetry of grooping on a fluorescent screen by applying a correction current having the amplitude change of nearly sawtooth waveform horizontal period and having a large peak-to-peak value at the lower part of the fluorescent screen to an electromagnetic correction means displacing horizontally only a side beam to a bottle neck of a color flat cathode ray tube.
CONSTITUTION: The correction current having nearly sawtooth waveform and smaller amplitude is applied to coils 26A and 26B. Yokes 25A, 25B are excited at the negative first half period of the correction current, the magnetic flux density B is larger toward both sides in the magnetic flux distribution in the neck part and electron beams 11B, 11R of both sides are moved horizontally to the right as shown in solid lines. The beams are driven horizontally to the left as shown in arrows of broken lines conversely with the direction of the first half period in the latter period where the correction current fed to the coils 26a, 26b is positive. The amount of the horizontal movement of the side beams 11B, 11R by the yokes 25A, 25B and the coils 26A, 26B is increased toward the lower part of the fluorescent screen.
