Abstract: The ID of a terminal is registered in a database of an ISP in advance. When the power supply of a terminal is turned on first, the terminal ID is transmitted from the terminal to a router, and a set of the router ID and the terminal ID is transmitted to the ISP from the router. If the set of the router ID and the terminal ID is registered in the database, the ISP transmits a permission message to the router, and the router gives the terminal an IP address, thereby enabling the terminal can participate in a home network. If the set of the router ID and the terminal ID is not registered in the database, a rejection message is sent to the router.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize data link level authentication in a radio network by a simple operation. SOLUTION: An IC card which is preliminarily recorded with an identifier by an ISP(Internet service provider) is received. In the first step S1, the IC card is inserted into a router 12. The identifier, for example, (ID=4) recorded in the IC card is read through the IC card interface of the router 12. Then, the IC card is returned (mounted) to terminal equipment TE4. In communicating, the terminal equipment TE4 informs the router 12 of the (ID=4). The router 12 recognizes that the terminal equipment TE4 is provided with the same ID as the read ID. Thus, the authentication of a data link level between the router 12 and the terminal equipment TE4 can be established.
