    Abstract: A color cathode-ray tube where an electron beam selection mask with an aperture grille type beam selection electrode of a thin metal plate attached to a frame is supported by engagement of stud pins with support springs and is thereby positioned stably opposite to a color luminescent screen formed on the inner surface of a panel. A projection is formed on either the top of each stud pin or the bottom of each cap opposed thereto, while a recess is formed in the other for engagement with the projection in the direction orthogonal to the action of the support spring. The mutual contact portions of such projection and recess are coated with solid lubricant films so that the beam selection mask can be reset at its proper position despite any external impact applied thereto. The elasticity constant of the frame is selectively set at a desired value with additional disposition of reinforcing plates having the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of the frame, thereby averting vibration of the beam selection mask. And rotary mechanisms are formed relative to the support springs and are rotated in accordance with thermal expansion of the frame, so that the frame is shifted toward the panel surface having a color luminescent screen thereon, whereby mislanding of the electron beam due to temperature rise in the beam selection mask can be prevented.

    Abstract: An electron beam indicator, for example, for a largescreen display which has a two-dimensional arrangement of a plurality of electron beam indicators. The electron beam indicator tube comprises fluorescent trios each of which have a plurality of fluorescent layers which function as picture elements, and a plurality of linear cathodes which are disposed respectively opposite to the fluorescent layers of the fluorescent trios. A common accelerating electrode is disposed between the fluorescent trios and control electrodes, and a separator structure is disposed so as to shield the fluorescent layers of each fluorescent trio. The common accelerating electrode is curved in the direction which the linear cathodes extend in a convex shape which bulged outwardly toward the fluorescent layers, and is formed so that the width of the electron beam transmission apertures decreases from the central portion toward the opposite ends. The electron beams which impinge on the separators of the separator structure are cut off by the accelerating electrode to which a low voltage is applied and hence the reactive current is reduced and luminous efficiency of the fluorescent layers is improved and the power consumption is reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify formation and assembling, by holding a magnetic spherical body inside a recessed part, which is formed on a cap part of a plate spring, with a holding means having a magnet so that a frame for a color selection means can be mounted/dismounted on/off a panel part. CONSTITUTION:When a frame 4 is mounted/dismounted on/off a panel part 1, a yoke 61 of a holding means 63 is put on a cap part 21 and its magnet 62 is located in a position opposite to a recessed part 23, and then a magnetic spherical body 52 located inside the recessed part 23 is held. Arrangement of the holding means 63 forms a closed magnetic path, the loop from an end of the magnet 62-the spherical body 52-the yoke 61-the magnet 62, making the spherical body 52 to be attracted by the magnet 62 through the cap part 21 and held inside the recessed part 23. Therefore, the spherical body 52 can be engaged/disengaged with the recessed part 53, according to engagement/ disengagement of the cap part 21 with the stud pin 15.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify attaching and detaching of a color selection means through engagement of springs and stud pins, by providing cap part on each spring and furnishing a projection on the recessed part of the top surface of each stud pin and a recess on the bottom surface of each cap part so that the projection and the recess are engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:Stud pins 15 shall be fixed to either the attaching part of the color selection means 2 or the frame 4 of the panel part 1 and springs 16 with cap parts 21 to be put on the top parts of said stud pins 15 shall be fixed to the other. Conical recesses 41 are formed at the center of the top surface 15a of the stud pins 15 and projections 22 are provided as one body with pins 15 on the shaft centers of the pins 15. Further, on the bottom surfaces of the cap parts 21 are provided with the recesses 23 into which the projections 22 are entered to be engaged by elastic force of the springs 16. Thereby, attaching and detaching of the frame 4 to and from the panel part 1 can be simply performed even when spring force of the springs 16 is increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain images of luminance distributions which are good for practicability over a relatively wide effective visual field range with respect to a transmission type screen for projectors provided with lentikular lens having a semicircular shape. CONSTITUTION:The sectional shape of semicircular lenses is selected to the curve between the threshold curves Z1 and Z2 expressed by formulae. In the case of the curve Z2, the screen gain is roughly flat in the range of -18-+18 deg. directional angles and in the case of the curve Z1, the screen gain is roughly flat in the range of -32-+32 deg. directional angles. In both cases, luminance can be maintained relatively large. If the sectional shape of the semicircular lenses is selected at the curve between the curves Z1 and Z2, the characteristics of the screen gain are kept within the range between said curves, and the screen having good luminance distributions is obtained surely by selecting the sectional shape suitably.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To design to improve light emitting efficiency of a phosphor layer by arrange in such that a common acceleration electrode is convexly curved toward a phosphor layer side relative to the extending direction of a linear cathode and that the width of an electron beam transmission hole decreases from center toward both ends. CONSTITUTION:A common acceleration electrode G2 is convexly curved to a phosphor layer side relative to the extending direction of linear cathodes KR, KG, KB and at the same time the width of electron beam transmission holes 6R, 6G, 6B of the acceleration electrode G2 is made to decrease from the center of the extending direction toward its both ends. As a result, lowering of light emission at the cathode end portion due to low temperature is eliminated and the light emission on the entire surface of the phosphor layer becomes possible, and at the same time ineffective current flowing to high voltage (not contributing to the light emission) decreases. This makes it possible to improve the light emitting efficiency and to reduce power consumption.
