    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent white blur by suppressing only the quantity of correction of the white side against a video signal component of large amplitude, and also to sufficiently correct a video signal of small amplitude or intermediate amplitude. CONSTITUTION:When an input video signal Si is supplied to an input terminal 1, the signal Si is supplied to not only an adding circuit 3 but also a secondary differentiating circuit 4. The circuit 4 differentiates the signal Si 2 times, and forms a correcting signal S1 as its output. The signal S1 is supplied to a level adjusting means 5, a correcting signal S2 from the means 5 is supplied to a suppressing circuit 6 of the large amplitude white side, and a correcting signal S3 by which a large amplitude component of the white side of the signal S2 has been suppressed is obtained as its output. This signal S3 is supplied to the adding circuit 3 through an inverting circuit 7, and to an output terminal 8 of the circuit 3, an output video signal SD on which the correcting signal has been superposed is obtained. In this way, white blur is prevented, and also a large amplitude black side component, and a level of a part which cannot reach a white peak are not suppressed, therefore, its sharpness is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducing screen with wide dynamic range, by blanking a luminance signal with a pulse obtained through differentiation and shaping of the luminance signal, and preventing the shift in black level. CONSTITUTION:The luminance signal Sy is subjected to blanking with a blanking pulse Pb formed with horizontal and vertical pulses. This blanking luminance signal S1 is extracted by holding it at a black peak level. A pulse P12 is obtained by differentiating and shaping the luminance signal Sy at a differentiation circuit 11 and a wave shaping circuit 12. The luminance signal Sy is subjected to blanking with the pulse P12. Further, a black level compensation circuit is provided with a blanking circuit 1, current mirror circuits 2, 3, black peak hold circuit 4, comparison circuit 5, and a clamp circuit 6; and a luminance signal S6 in which the substantial black level is changed to the pedestal level is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a delay time difference in a comb-line filter by inputting a signal not Y/C separation at a Y/C separator circuit, that is, a composite video signal in a vertical blanking period to a text decoder. CONSTITUTION:Line subtraction processing by an arithmetic circuit 14 in a Y/C separator circuit 11 is not implemented during a vertical blanking period. Thus, a test data superimposed during the vertical blanking period of a composite video signal is not changed but outputted from the Y/C separation circuit 11. Thus, when a text decoder 17 extracts a text data from an output of the arithmetic circuit 14, proper decoding is attained. Since the text data passes through the Y/C separation circuit 11, the delay time difference between Y and C signals due to the characteristic of a comb-line filter is not generated naturally. Thus, the time difference due to the comb-line filter is very easily eliminated in a video signal and a text signal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain excellent correction without deteriorating a characteristic by changing the characteristic of a frequency characteristic correction circuit synchronously with the switching of a switching circuit switching plural video signals. CONSTITUTION:A frequency characteristic correction circuit 22 has a correction characteristic suitable for the group delay characteristic of a video signal SV1 from a video detection circuit 3 and a correction circuit 23 has a correction characteristic suitable for the group delay characteristic of the video signal SV2 from a terminal 5 similarly. Switching circuits 4, 21 and 24 are switched to the position A or B by interlocking with a control signal SC. When the switching circuit 4 is connected to the position A and the video signal SV1 from the video detection circuit 3 is given to a separation circuit 8, since the circuit 22 is connected between the separation circuit 8 and a processor 9, the group delay characteristic of the signal SV1 is corrected excellently. When the circuit 4 is connected to the position B, the correction circuit 23 corrects the group delay characteristic of the video signal SV2 excellently.
