Since the pawl hooking part 43 of this cassette mounting device is integrally molded with the cassette receiving base 33, no dispersion is generated in the relative position relation of the pawl hook and the cassette receiving base. Also, the need of a positioning means by the single body of the pawl hooking part 43 is eliminated and excessive works or the like are not required.

A supply side reel base 8 is released from a brake shoe 36 by a brake arm 34 with its pin 37 and a groove 38, and a claw 41 is engaged with a tooth 9a of a take-up side reel base 9 by an arm 39 with its pin 42 and a groove 43 so as to stop the rotation. When the chassis 7 is moved to the frontmost end, a recording/reproducing mode becomes effective, and the tape is taken up in keeping up its appropriate tension.
