Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new ammoxidation catalyst which increases yield of hydrogen cyanide by-product formed during preparation of acrylonitrile while acrylonitrile formation level is kept at substantially the same level. SOLUTION: A catalyst compsn. contg. a compound body of catalyst oxide of iron, bismuth, molybdenum and calcium and characterized by the formula Aa Bb Cc Dd Fee Bif Mo12 Ox (wherein A is at least one of Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs or a mixture thereof; B is at least one of Mg, Mn, Ni, Co, Ag, Pb, Re, Cd and Zn or a mixture thereof; C is at least one of Ce, Cr, Al, Sb, P, Ge, La, Sn, V and W or a mixture thereof; D is at least one of Ca, Sr, Ba or a mixture thereof; and a=0.01-1.0; b and e=1.0-10; c, d and f=0.1-5.0 and x is determined by conditions of atomic values of other existing elements), is provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel process for regenerating an ammonium oxidation catalyst containing molybdenum. SOLUTION: A process for regenerating the ammonium oxidation catalyst containing molybdenum as an active component comprises the step of restoring loss of molybdenum during use of the catalyst in an ammonium oxidation reaction for production of acrylonitrile by treating the catalyst, and selecting ammonium dimolybdate as a feed source of the molybdenum added to the original catalyst for restoring the loss of molybdenum as an improved point.

Abstract: The invention relates to a catalyst composition used for preparing acrylonitrile and hydrocyanic acid based on oxides of iron, bismuth, molybdenum and calcium, which comprises, on an inert carrier selected from oxides of silicon, aluminium, zirconium or mixtures thereof, an oxide complex having the following empirical formula: A a B b C c D d Fe e Bi f Mo 12 O x, where A represents one or more elements selected from Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs or mixtures thereof, B represents one or more elements selected from Mg, Mn, Ni, Co, Ag, Pb, Re, Cd and Zn or mixtures thereof, C represents one or more elements selected from Ce, Cr, Al, Sb, P, Ge, La, Sn, V, W or mixtures thereof, D represents one or more elements selected from Ca, Sr, Ba, or mixtures thereof, and a, b, c, d, e, f and x are coefficients, where a=001 to 10; b and e=1010; c, d and f=01 to 50 and x is a number determined by the conditions imposed by the valence of the other elements
