Abstract:
Unsaturated aldehydes and acids was prepared by the oxidation of olefins at 200-400≦̸C in the presence of catalyst, K0.1Ni2.5Co4.5Mo12Ox (X = the no. required to satisfy stoichiometry) and a promoter Fe2LZ0.5 (L = Cr, Sb, Ce, Pb, Ge, S Sn), or Mg7.5Fe3Z0.5 (Z = p,w). Using Fe2CrW0.5 as the promoter at 350≦̸C, conversion yield of acrolein and acrylic acid was 80.4 % and 77 %, resp.
Abstract:
Microcrystalline alloys are synthesized by heat-treating amorphous or disordered metal alloy powder precursors which have been prepared under solid-state reaction conditions. The resultant microcrystalline alloys retain the same wide range of compositions present in the amorphous metal alloy powders. These microcrystalline alloys can be formed into solid shapes prior or subsequent to microcrystallization.
Abstract:
Anodes comprising substrate materials coated with iridium based amorphous metal alloys having the formulae IriDdEeFf and IriYyDdEeFf where D is Ti, Zr, Nb, Ta, Ru, W, Mo and mixtures thereof; E is C, B, Si, P, Al, Ge, As, N, Sb and mixtures thereof; F is Rh, Pt, Pd, and mixtures thereof; i is from about 35 to 96 or 50 to 95, respectively; y is 4 to 40; d is 0 to 40; e is 4 to 40; f is 0 to 45; and i + d + e + f = 100, i + y + d + e + f = 100 and if E is Si and/or P, then B is also present. A process for the use of the foregoing iridium based alloys as anodes for the electrolysis of halide-containing electrolyte solutions is also provided.
Abstract:
Antimony-based oxide complex catalysts are improved by adding to these catalysts an antimony-containing compound such as Sb 2 O 3 , in an amount of 0.1 to 25% based on an atomic basis of the antimony relative to the antimony already present in the catalyst. In this way a catalyst is produced which gives improved yields for example in the procuction of acrylonitrile by the ammoxidation of propylene.
