Abstract: Acrylonitrile-indene copolymer(I) and acrylonitrile-coumarone copolymer contg. 50-90% acrylonitrile(II) having thermoplastic properties and can be readily thermoformed into containers with high heat-distorsion temp. (Td), low permeability to gas and exccllent resistance to solvents. Thus, I was prepd. 86% yield by stirring the mixt. of water 300, GAFAC RE-610 (emulsifier) 3, II 70, indene 30, n-dodecyl mercaptan 0.2 and K persulfate 0.3 wt. parts at 70OC for 16hr in N2 stream.
