    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an assemblage by attaching a glass run channel on a rotary frame molding and fixing the rotary frame molding on a flange of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A molding module 20 comprises a rotary frame molding 24, a glass run channel 26, a belt line external seal 28, and a plurality of grips 30. Then, on the rotary frame molding 24, an inward attachment flange 38 which runs along a vertical front fringe 34, a rear fringe 36 and a curved upper fringe 38 is provided. Furthermore, a downward flange 42 is provided along a belt line 40, and is set in parallel to the external surface 44 of the molding 24. The molding 24 is provided with two lining tabs 48 and 50 which extends in a downward direction of the belt line 40. Out of them, the first tab 48 is an extension part of the attachment flange 32 which runs along the front fringe 34, and the second tab 50 is an extension part of an attachment flange 32 which runs along the rear fringe 36.

    Abstract: A belt weatherstrip adapted to engage an end flange of a vehicle for operative sealing between a glass window and a vehicle surface. The flange of the vehicle has an inner surface and an outer surface. The belt weatherstrip is expandable to accommodate adaptability to various vehicle surface contours by allowing expandability of the width of the weatherstrip. The belt weatherstrip includes an elongated core substrate which has an inner flange portion for abutting the inner surface of the flange and includes an outer flange portion and intermediate portion connecting the inner flange portion with the outer flange portion and a plurality of clips for securing the elongated core substrate to the end flange. An elastomeric sealing lip member is attached to the flange portion for allowing slideable sealing engagement between the flange and a glass pane. The intermediate portion includes a bend therein in its normal position wherein the bend may be selectively straightened to expand the width of the weatherstrip for accommodating varying final applications in a vehicle. A glass run weatherstrip having a bend in its intermediate leg is also provided for traversing corners of a door window aperture.

    Abstract: The present invention is a weather seal adapted to be secured on a flange of a vehicle to seal a gap between the flange and a panel member. The weather seal includes retaining members for retaining the weather seal on the flange and a separate trim lip for sealing the gap between the flange and panel member. The weather seal also includes an attachment portion receiving one end of the trim lip to removably secure the trim lip to the weather, seal and allow accurate positioning of the trim lip to seal the gap when the weather seal is secured to the flange.

    Abstract: Providing a module and a method of installing the module to a vehicle having a window opening for a translational glass pane supported and guided by a glass run channel. The module is comprised of a one-piece surround molding (24) fully surrounding and generally defining the perimeter of the window opening. A glass run channel (26) is secured to the surround molding. Fasteners (30) are attached to the surround molding (24) and attach the module to a flange on the vehicle. A belt line outer seal (28) and one or more gimp seals may also be attached to more fully integrate the module. The module is fully assembled prior to being attached to a vehicle during final assembly, the surround molding supporting the glass run channel rather than having the glass run channel attached to a flange of the vehicle. Further, a method of installing the module in a reduced number of operations along the final assembly line is disclosed which provides improved control over the fit and finish of the multiple part within the module, and reduces labor time associated with the final assembly line.
