    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for production of a chain metal powder, which comprises the steps of reducing ferromagnetic metal ions contained in an aqueous solution through the action of a reducing agent while applying a magnetic field to the solution in a fixed direction thereby to deposit fine metal particles, and bonding a lot of the fine metal particles in a chain form so as to orient the fine metal particles in a direction of the applied magnetic field through magnetism of the fine metal particles, characterized in that the reduction deposition reaction is conducted in the presence of: (g) a reducing agent for generating a gas during the reduction of metal ions, or a combination of the reducing agent and a foaming agent capable of generating a gas; and (h) a foamable water soluble compound for generating a bubble layer on the surface of the aqueous solution by generation of the gas and the bubble layer formed on the surface of the aqueous solution is separated from the aqueous solution and then the chain metal powder contained in the bubble layer is collected.

    Abstract: A coated article comprising a stainless steel base having an etched surface and having on the etched surface a coated layer. The coating layer may comprise a fluororesin and can be provided: after sensitizing the stainless steel base through heating, treating with an acid, subjecting to etching, and subjecting to a solution treatment; after immersing in an aqueous acid solution or an aqueous ferric chloride solution to cause the base to be dissolved to such an extent that the gloss of the surface disappears; after uniformly abrading the surface of the base through buffing or blasting to the weight corresponding to a thickness of 1.0 mu m or more of the base, immersing in an aqueous acid solution or an aqueous ferric chloride solution to cause the base to be dissolved to such an extent that the gloss of the surface disappears, and subjecting to etching; or after subjecting to electrolytic etching at 15 DEG C or less.

    Abstract: An escape device (1) for aircrafts having a pair of gas bags (3) and a slide member (4) joined to the gas bags. The escape device provides a high resistance to radiation heat and reliable bonding between the sheet members. The sheet member forming the gas bags and the slide member includes a substrate of fabric and covering layers of thermosetting elastomer containing a flame retardant. The sheet members forming the gas bags are bonded together before the covering layer of one of the sheet members hardens completely. A protective layer is provided on the outer surface of the joint portion between the sheet members to reflect radiation heat.
