Abstract: PURPOSE: To seal an electric cable watertightly by a method wherein a ring-shaped structure is installed on the outer surface of the electric cable through an adhesive body and the adhesive body is heated to its melting point or above to integrate the electric cable and the ring-shaped structure into one body and then the ring-shaped structure is pressed in the axial direction of the cable with a spring-like elastic body and is adhered to a case airtightly. CONSTITUTION: An adhesive body 4 is formed by winding an unsintered PTFE or PFA tape around a coated cable 1 such as a PTE cable. Or, it is formed by mounting an unsintered PTFE- or PFA-made cylinder-shaped molding or locating powder of such material on the outer surface of the coated cable. Then, a ring-shaped structure 3 is located on the outer surface of the adhesive body 4 and the adhesive body 4 is heated to its melting point or above and then is pressed and thereby the coated cable 1 and the ring-shaped structure 3 are integrated into one body through the adhesive body 4. The coated cable 1 is so located that it may pass through a case wall 2 and the ring-shaped structure 3 is so located that it may be brought into contact with the outer surface of the case wall 2. A spring-like elastic body 6 is inserted between a presser tool 5 installed on the case wall 2 and the ring-shaped structure 3 and then the spring-like elastic body 6 is pressed in the axis direction of the cable 1. By this method, watertight sealing is formed between the case wall 2 and the structure 4.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber-coated roller with surface smoothness and improved interlayer adhesion in which a silicone rubber layer and a fluororubber coat are formed in this order on a roller base material. SOLUTION: A fluororubber coat 2 is formed on the inner surface of a cylindrical mold, a roller base material 4 is inserted into the space of the mold, silicone rubber 3 is injected in the clearance between the coat 2 and the base material 4, and the silicone rubber 3 is vulcanized. In a rubber-coated roller in which a silicone rubber layer and the coat 2 are formed in this order on the roller base material 4, the surface roughness Ra of the fluororubber coat 2 is 1.0 μm or below and Rmax is 5.0 μm or below.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the waiting time on speeding-up of fixing, making a high speed copying possible, and quickening the temp. rising rate to the fixing temperature by composing a electromagnetic induction heat generating metallic layer generating heat by the eddy current loss on the surface of a heat resistance plastic tube shape substrate. SOLUTION: As for this belt, the electromagnetic induction heat generating metallic layer 12 generating heat by the eddy current loss is formed on the surface of the heat resistance plastic tube shape substrate 11. Moreover, the electromagnetic induction heat generating metallic layer 12 is heated by adopting a high frequency coil that a parting layer consisting of fluorinated resin, and silicone rubber of a RTV type or the LTV type is composed thereon, and making the eddy current generated in the material namely, the electromagnetic induction heat generating metallic layer 12 becomes a heating body. When performing the induction heating with use of this belt for fixing, the temp. on the fixing surface held in contact with the toner image, can be raised up to the heat resisting temp. of the heat resistance plastic 11 of the substrate, consequently, the speed up of the copying by increasing paper passing speed can be made possible.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which can be made into a fixing roll or belt, applicable to a fixing section of, e.g. a high-speed or color copier, by comprising a heat-resistant elastomer and specific copolymer. SOLUTION: This heat-resistant elastomer composition comprises (A) a heat- resistant elastomer and (B) a perfluoroethylene oxide/perfluoromethylene oxide copolymer. It is preferable to mix the components A and B with each other and heat-treat the mixture, in order to obtain the objective composition, where the component B has at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of OH, COOH, NCO and COOR (R is a 1-20C alkyl) at least at one terminal, and is particularly preferably contained in the composition in such a way that the terminal functional group is bound to another functional group.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion strength of a heat-resistant elastomer layer by forming a heat-resistant synthetic resin layer as an adhesive layer on the outer surface of a polyimide tube and then directly forming a heat-resistant elastomer layer thereon or with a reactive silicone layer interposed. SOLUTION: A polyimide tube, for example, having 300μm thickness and 61mm outer diameter is produced by using a polyimide varnish. Then a polyamide imide varnish diluted with N-methy-2-pyrrolidone is applied on the outer surface of the tube and dried (e.g. to 5μm thickness). Then a silicone rubber as a heat-resistant elastomer is applied by press forming. The rubber layer formed is ground, for example to 2mm thickness. Then a fluorocarbon resin varnish is applied (e.g. 20μm thickness) and heat treated. When the adhesion strength between the heat resistant elastomer layer and the polyimide tube of the fixing belt thus produced is measured by a 180 deg. peeling test, 400 to 1000gf/cm strength is obtd. which means improvement in the adhesion strength.
