    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring apparatus by which the position of a moving body is found on the basis of the direction of the moving body and on the basis of the movement distance of a steering wheel by a method wherein the direction and the swivel angular velocity of the moving body are measured, the movement speed of the steering wheel is measured and the position of the moving body is computed by using the measured values and by using the car body size of the moving body. SOLUTION: A position measuring apparatus is applied to a moving body in which the degree of freedom of the axle of a steering wheel is 1, e.g. to a moving body in which the steering axle of a steering wheel 21 is one axle or to a moving body in which steering axles of two steering wheels 31a, 31b are connected to a mechanism. In this case, an imaginary fixed wheel is assumed between two fixed wheels 22 or between the steering wheels 31a, 31b. Then, a gyro sensor 11 measures the direction and the swievel angular velocity of the moving body. A running-distance encoder 12 measures the movement distance and the movement speed of the steering wheel at the moving body. A position computing part 13 finds the position and the direction of the moving body on the basis of output data from the gyro sensor 11 and from the running-distance encoder 12 and on the basis of known moving-body size data which is stored in advance in a storage device.

SOLUTION: When an image-generating section 21 displays an image on a display section 12, the image is projected on a screen S. A correction control section 22 controls the image generating section 21 to display a grating test pattern on the display section 12 and to project the test pattern image on the screen S. When the grating points of the test pattern image are not arranged at prescribed positions, the correction control section 22 modifies the image on the display section 12, so that the grating points of the test pattern image are arranged at the prescribed positions. Then the correction control section 22 modifies the desired image in the same state as that of the test pattern to display the modified image on the display section 12.

The slider has a tubular cross-sectional shape so as to surround the periphery of the fixed part, and the inner walls of the slider are provided with a plurality of air bearings 23 at locations opposite to the external surface of the guide bar.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring apparatus by which the position of a moving body can be found on the basis of the orientation of the moving body and on the basis of the movement distance of a steering wheel without using a steering angle as far as possible. SOLUTION: The position measuring apparatus is provided with a judgment part 10-1 which judges whether the moving body is swiveled and moved and a position calculation and processing part 10-2. When the judgment part 10-1 judges that the moving body is not swiveled and moved the processing part 10-2 measures the position of the moving body by a dead reckoning operation while a front-steering-wheel movement amount, a front-steeringwheel steering angle, a rear-steering-wheel movement amount, a rear-steering-wheel steering angle, a posture-angle change amount and the wheel-base length of the moving body are used. When the judgment judges that the moving body is swiveled and moved, the slewing radius of a measuring point which is set on a wheel base is found by using the front-steering-wheel movement amount, the rear-steering-wheel movement amount, the posture-angle change amount and the wheel-base length while the moving body is swiveled and moved. The position of the moving body is measured on the basis of the movement amount during the swiveling motion calculated from the found slewing radius and the found posture-angle charge amount.
