Abstract: A display apparatus including a display configured to display a pointing object, a communicator configured to perform communication with a remote control device which recognizes a movement and transmits a signal corresponding to the recognized movement, and a processor configured to control a moving state of the pointing object based on the signal received from the remote control device. The processor controls the moving state of the pointing object according to a relative coordinate method for a first area where a screen of the display is included, and controls the moving state of the pointing object according to an absolute coordinate method for a second area outside the first area.
