    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization equipment equipped with a device to remove polymer sagging to improve both work efficiency and environment by mechanizing and automating manual work of removing polymer sagging. SOLUTION: This polymerization equipment is equipped with a device to remove the sagging of a polymer 11 leaking out of a gap between a seal plate 12 sealing the polymer outlet of a reaction vessel and a nozzle 9. The device to remove the polymer sagging 11 has a scraper 4 to remove the polymer sagging and a scraper traverse mechanism 5 which enables the scraper 4 to traverse along the surface of the seal plate with the polymer sagging deposited on it.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate faulty cutting which happens in an electric heater type and provide an unattended operation by mounting a cutter for cutting a bundle of fibers connecting between a can filled by the bundle of fiber and a vacant can. SOLUTION: A bundle of fibers 16 connecting between a filled can 6 and a vacant can which are replaced is lifted between cutting positions by operating a bundle-of-fibers lifting device. The bundle of fibers 16 supplied to a bundle-of- fibers cutting device 11 is fixed between both sides of a knife 20 and a bundle- of-fibers pressing device 25 by moving forward the bundle-of-fibers pressing device 24 such that the bundle of fibers 16 is not slipped off when they are cut. Next, a knife moving cylinder 22 is moved to cut the bundle of fibers 16. The knife moving cylinder 22 is then moved back and the bundle-of-fibers pressing device 24 and a tension applying device are returned to relieve the bundle of fibers 16, whereby the ends of the bundle of cut fibers depend from the ends of each can. A photoelectronic sensor for detecting cutting detects the end of the bundle of cut fibers and gives an operator a warning when cutting is not good.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To subject a polymer to disposal treatment in a bagged state by arranging a polymer cutting means under a polymer emitting pipe and arranging a polymer lump feed means under the polymer cutting means and automatically cutting the refuse polymer continuously discharged from the polymer emitting pipe into polymer lumps to bag up them. CONSTITUTION:The refuse polymer 6 continuously discharged from a polymer emitting pipe 1 is received by the fixed bottom plate 4, movable bottom plate 4 and side plates 7 of a polymer cutting means 2. At that time, cooling water is supplied to the fixed bottom plate 3 and the movable bottom plate 4 from nozzles 8, 9 to cool and soften the refuse polymer 6. Next, the bucket 11 of a bucket conveyor being a polymer lump feed means is allowed to run in the direction shown by an arrow and, at the point of time when a detection plate 14 is spaced apart from a limit switch 15, the movable bottom plate 4 is opened to allow the refuse polymer 6 to fall to the bucket 11. Succeedingly, the refuse polymer 6 is cut under its own wt. to form polymer lumps 16 within the bucket 11. Cooling water 18 is injected into the bucket 11 from a separate nozzle to cool the polymer lumps 16.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove abnormal yarns effectively, by arranging a waste spool at one side of a rotor unit and providing transfer means and clutch means so that the abnormal yarns are separated from normal yarns and wound around the circumference of the waste spool. CONSTITUTION:A yarn bundle 23 is guided to a rotor unit 21 and cut to a prescribed length by a cutter 22 and a pinch roller 24. When a border of normal yarns and abnormal yarns comes just before the rotor unit, the rotation of the rotor unit 21 is interrupted by inserting a positioning block 38 into a cutout 30 of a flange 31, a press guide 35 and a transfer guide 36 are advanced so that they are positioned at another cutout 30. Net, the transfer guide 36 is moved in a transverse direction so that the yarn bundle 23 held by its guide portion 37 is transferred onto the circumference of a waste spool 29 and forced therein and clutch means is actuated to wind the yarn bundle around the circumference of the waste spool 29. With such an arrangement only the abnormal yarns can be correctly and effectively removed without wasting the normal yarns.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pelletize a plurality of types of thermoplastic resins having different characteristics by a single cooling and cutting unit. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing a thermoplastic resin pellet comprises a cooling unit for cooling to solidify a strand group 3 obtained by discharging a thermoplastic resin of a molten state from a discharging unit 2, and a cutter 12 for cutting the cooled and solidified group 3 in the presence of the cooling water. The cooling unit has a cooling tray 4 of the unit 2 side and a conveyor belt 7 of the cutter 12 side. The tray 4 is inclined horizontally at a down gradient directly under the unit 2, disposed to an inlet of the belt 7, and has a cooling water, supplying unit directly under the unit 2 so that the water can flow from its upstream to its downstream. The belt 7 mounts the group 3 and the cooling water on its upper surface to convey them toward the cutter 12.

CONSTITUTION:Raw staple consisting of crimped staples with section 10-40% in hollow rate is cut and opened and then heat treated at >=120 deg.C (pref. 125-160 deg.C) to effect developing crimps due to structural difference, thus obtaining the objective raw staple comprised of (A) 10-40wt.% of opened component (number of crimps: 7-13/25mm; crimp percent: 25-40%) and (B) 90-60wt.% of unopened component (number of crimps: 3-7/25mm; crimp percent: 15-24%).
