    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for efficiently producing a highly pure alkyl carboxylate. More specifically, the present invention is a method for producing an alkyl carboxylate, in which a carboxylic acid and an alcohol are esterified by reaction in the presence of an acid catalyst, comprising the steps of removing water in the reaction system in a dehydration step established halfway in the esterification reaction using a solid acid catalyst as the acid catalyst, and restarting the esterification reaction to complete the esterification reaction. The alkanedioic acid dialkyl esters produced according to the present invention can be suitably used as intermediates of drugs, agricultural chemicals, perfumes, dyes, liquid crystal materials, high molecular materials, etc.

    Abstract: 1279906 Alpha-aminocycloalkanone oximes TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc 29 Oct 1970 [22 Dec 1969] 51550/70 Heading C2C Alpha - aminocycloalkanone oxime hydrochlorides are prepared by reacting a bis-(2- chloro-1-nitroso-cycloalkane) of Formula I : (in which R is C 3-10 alkylene and "VVV" represents stereo-isomerism) with ammonia, the molar proportion of ammonia being at least 20 times the molar proportion of bis-(2-chloro-1-nitrosocycloalkane). The process is preferably effected at 0‹ to 150‹ C. in a solvent, e.g. a C 1-5 alkanol, a cyclic ether or water, or a mixture of two or more of these. Alpha-aminocyclopentanone and alpha-aminocyclooctanone hydrochlorides are prepared by hydrolysing the corresponding oximes. Alpha-amino-omega-laurolactam hydrochloride is prepared by Beckmann rearrangement of alpha - aminocyclododecanone oxime hydrochloride.
