    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate fluctuation in the positive electrostatic charge quantity among toner particles by incorporating metal complex of 4-pyrones as an electric charge control agent into the titled compsn. CONSTITUTION:The metal complex of the 4-pyrones expressed by the formula is added as the charge control agent to the developer compsn. In the formula, R1, R2 denote (un)substd.alkyl. For example, Co complex of 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-4- pyrone is used for said complex. This complex may be added to any part of the compsn. if the complex can exhibit the positive electrostatic chargeability thereof. The complex is usable for both one-component and two-component developers. The compsn. which is high in the rising speed of electrostatic charge and has no fluctuation in the triboelectrostatic charge quantity among the toner particles and the stable positive electrostatic charge characteristic is obtd. if such complex is added to the compsn.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To selectively and efficiently obtain high-purity L- or D-N - benzyloxycarbonyllysine, by hydrolyzing L- or D-alpha-benzyloxycarbonylamino-epsilon- caprolactam. CONSTITUTION:DL-alpha-Amino-epsilon-caprolactam is benzyloxycarbonylated and then subjected to optical resolution to give L- or D-epsilon-benzyloxycarbonylamino-epsilon- caprolactam, which is hydrolyzed in a solvent (e.g., water or methanol) at room temperature-120 deg.C for 1-100hr by treating the reaction system with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, etc., into an acidic condition, to give the aimed substance. The amount of the acid used is 0.9-10 equivalents, preferably 1.0-7 equivalents based on the starting raw material and its concentration is 0.3-5 normals in an aqueous solution.
