Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject filament excellent in abrasion resistance, etc., by curing a hydrolyzate of a specific silicone compound and an epoxy compound with a specified metallic compound and coating the surface of polyester monofilament through an adhesive layer with the resultant cured product in a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:A silicon compound expressed by the formula (n is 1-3; R is alkyl or alkoxyalkyl; n R may be same or different; R is 1-6C alkyl, etc.; R is 1-10C alkylene, alkylene oxide, etc.; X is functional group containing epoxy group) is hydrolyzed with an acidic aqueous solution. The resultant hydrolyzate and an epoxy compound are cured with a metallic compound selected from iron, chromium, aluminum, etc., and the surface of polyester filament yarn is then coated with the obtained cured product through an adhesive composed of a combination of preferably a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and styrene with trimethyl ether of hexamethylolmelamine, etc., to form a coating layer of 0.5-20mum thickness. Thereby, monofilament excellent in flexibility, etc., is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:A reaction produced prepared by hydrolyzing a silicon compound shown by the formula ((n)=1-3; R is alkyl or alkoxyalkyl and nR may be the same or different; R is 1-6C alkyl or aryl; R is 1-10C alkylene, alkylene oxide or polyalkylene oxide; X is epoxy-containing functional group) with an acidic aqueous solution and an epoxy compound are incorporated with a metallic compound selected from Fe, Cr, Al, Co or Ti to prepare a coating solution, in which polyester monofilament is immersed. The polyester monofilament is pulled up, the substances are cured under heating and a uniform coating layer having 0.5-20mum thickness is formed to give monofilament having excellent wear resistance and flexibility. The monofilament is suitable as fishing net, brush, belt cloth, etc.

The obtained monofilament is suitable as fishing nets, brushes, belt cloths, etc.

CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester (e.g. polyester consisting essentially of polyethy lene terephthalate) containing 0.02-20wt.% inorganic particles having >=6 Moh's hardness and >=2.0m /g specific surface area as a core component and (B) a polyester (e.g. polyester consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate) as a sheath component in a conjugate ratio (weight ratio) of the core and the sheath of (95:5)-(50/50) are extruded in a molten state and drawn to give the objective monofilament. When nets for papermaking are produced by using the monofilament, wear to calcium carbonate is suitably suppressed.
