    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyester composition for insulation film having extremely low content of cyclic ethylene terephthalate trimer and produced in such a manner as to get a copolymer component content and a ratio of a specific metal to phosphorus satisfying respective specific requirements. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyester composition for insulation film is a polyester having an intrinsic viscosity [eta] of 0.5-1 (preferably 0.7-0.9), composed of ethylene terephthalate as main recurring unit and containing (A) 1-10mol% of at least one kind of a dibasic acid other than terephthalic acid and a diol other than ethylene glycol as a copolymerized component, (B) a metal (M) selected from alkali metal, alkaline-earth metal, iron-group metal, Mn, Sn, Pb, Zn and Cd and phosphorus (P) at ratios to satisfy the formula (M/P is equivalent ratio; phosphorus is regarded as bivalent and (C)

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out the drying and solid-phase polymn. of polyester chips of which the main repeating unit is ethylene terephthalate without degrading the quality of the chips and to shorten the time taken for raising the temp. in the solid-phase polymn. by thermally treating the chips under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:After polyester chips of which the main repeating unit is ethylene terephthalate are heated under atmospheric pressure to raise its temp. to 95-120 deg.C, the ambient pressure is lowered to 20Torr or lower. Next, an inert gas is introduced until the ambient pressure reaches atmospheric pressure or higher. Then the chips are thermally treated to raise its mean temp. to 180 deg.C and kept at 180 deg.C or higher in a vacuum for 4hr or longer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition excellent in molding properties in forming into a film, mechanical characteristics and electrical characteristics and suitable for magnetic tape, etc., by adding Mg, P and inert particles to a polyester containing ethylene terephathalate as a main unit. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is obtained by blending a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a main recurring unit with a magnesium element and a phosphorus element so that a molar ratio (M/P) of magnesium element and phosphorus element may be 0.1-1.6. This composition contains 0.001-10wt.% inert particles (e.g. colloid-like silica or alumina) having =60 deg.C wherein TC'( deg.C) is crystallization temperature in lowering of temperature and TC ( deg.C) is crystallization temperature in rise of temperature. This composition is prepared by adding, e.g. Mg compound, P compound and further, ethylene glycol slurry of inert particles thereto after finishing esterification reaction and then carrying out polycondensation reaction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title polyester having a specific difference between crystallization temperature by cooling and crystallization temperature by heating and low content of cyclic trimer by adding a metal compound am a phosphorus compound during polycondensation and then carrying out solid phase polymerization. CONSTITUTION:(A) Terephthalic acid (ester-forming derivative) and (B) ethyl terephthalate are esterified or subjected to ester exchange reaction, and then, subjected to polycondensation reaction and just before completion of the polycondensation, (C) a metal compound (e.g. alcoholate or chloride) of alkaline (earth) metal, iron group, manganese, tin, lead or zinc and (D) a phosphorus compound (e.g. ester) of phosphoric (phosphorous) acid, phosphonic acid, phosphinic acid, etc., are added in a ratio of gram equivalent concentration of the component C and mol concentration of the component D of 1.0-2.8 and then solid phase polymerization is carried out to give the objective polymer having difference of crystallization temperature by cooling and crystallization temperature by heating of 10-35 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester which can give a film excellent in flatness, easy slidability and electrical properties, by mixing a polyester mainly consisting of repeating ethylene terephthalate units with a functional group-containing titanium compound and an organic lubricant. CONSTITUTION:A polyester composition containing a polyester mainly consisting of repeating ethylene terephthalate units, a functional group-containing titanium compound [e.g., isopropyltris(dioctylpyrophosphate)titanate] and an organic lubricant (e.g., a fatty acid such as palmitic acid or a higher alcohol such as oleyl alcohol). According to the above composition, a film having flat and easily slidable surfaces and excellent electrical properties can be formed and also a fiber can be formed.
