    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an ink transfer material having excellent dimensional stability and durability, by a method wherein a biaxially oriented polyester film having a rough surface on one side thereof and having a specified thickness and specified physical properties is used as a base film of a transfer material for printer. CONSTITUTION:A composition which comprises polyethylene terephthalate, a copolymeric ester having an ethylene terephthalate unit as a main unit or a polymer blend comprising such a polyester as a main constituent and optionally comprises a stabilizer, a coloring agent or the like us biaxially oriented to form a film. The film has a thickness of 1-15mum, an F5 value in the longitudinal direction of 11-16kg/mm , a refractive index in longitudinal and transverse directions of 1.650-1.675, an index of double reflaction of 0-0.02, and a rough surface with a center line average roughness of 0.02-1mum on at least one side thereof. A transfer ink layer comprising a known binder component and a known coloring component as main constituents is provided on the polyester film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the titled solution without causing an appreciable MW decrease during dissolution in water, by cooling a water-soluble linear copolyester containing an esterifiable alkali metal sulfonate compound to below a specified temperature and then grinding the cooled copolyester. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble linear copolymer solid product obtained by polycondensing in a conventional manner an acid component consisting of an aromatic and/or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and 3-40mol% esterifiable alkali metal sulfonate compound (e.g., 5-sodiosulfoisophthalic acid) with a diol component is cooled at below 15 deg.C for at least 5hr, ground to a size of 100g/lump and then dissolved in hot water at 40-110 deg.C. EFFECT:Shortening of a time of dissolution in water is possible. USE:Adhesives.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a plastic molded article having excellent adhesivity to printing ink, without lowering its original mechanical and optical properties, by the corona- discharge treatment of a plastic molded article in an atmosphere of a mixed gas composed of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a plastic molded article is exposed to colona discharge in an atomosphere of a mixed gas composed of 99.5-50%, pref. 99.2-80% of nitrogen and 0.5-50%, pref. 0.8-20% of carbon dioxide. The content of oxygen in the mixed gas should be kept below 0.1vol%, pref. below 0.05vol% for the durability of the treating effect. The corona discharge treatment is pref. carried out by using a pair of electrodes wherein one of the electrode is a metal roll, and passing the film to be treated along said roll electrode.
