    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white polyester film excellent in film forming properties, and light weight, as well as whiteness, create resistance upon folding, and printing properties. SOLUTION: This white polyester film is composed of a polyester with a melting point Tm, containing a thermoplastic resin therein that is incompatible with the polyester, and containing fine gas bubbles inside. The melt viscosity of the thermoplastic resin is 2×10 -1×10 poise at a melting temperature (Tm+20 to Tm+30 deg.C), and a shear rate of 200 s .

SOLUTION: The white laminated polyester film for thermal transfer recording is characterized by being a laminated polyester film provided with a polyester layer (A) containing inorganic particles on at least one face of a polyester layer (B) containing fine air bubbles and with a specific gravity of 0.7-1.2 and being provided with a coating layer on at least one face and having a specific surface resistivity measured from the coated face side of at most 10 Ω/m and a heat shrinkage factor (Ht) in the width direction at 100 deg.C of 0.5-1.5%.
