    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester-based blended yarn having different shrinkages consisting of a dividing-type composite yarn and a highly shrinkable yarn, having a soft and a bulky feelings and suitable for a raw material for woven and kitted products having an excellent stiffness and draping properties. CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a blended yarn having different shrinkages comprises simultaneously spinning a divided-type composite yarn having 0.05-0.5dl segment fineness after a division, where the number of filaments of a low shrinkage yarn and a high shrinkage yarn BF, KF and the number of segments after the separation of the BS satisfy respectively the equations BF>=4KS and BS>=20KS, with the high shrinkage yarn of 4-10dl monofilament fineness, then imparting 5-80/m number of interlaces by an air interlacing nozzle to form a blended yarn having different shrinkages. The divided-type composite yarn is an island in sea type-composite yarn consisting of a PET as a divided segment and a hot water-soluble polyester such as a PET copolymerized with sulfoisophthalic acid salt and isophthalic acid as a dividing component. The high shrinkage yarn is a composite high shrinkage yarn having a tri-lobal cross section consisting of a PET copolymerized with isophthalic acid as a highly modified cross section segment and a PET copolymerized with a sulfoisophthalic acid salt as a tapering-shaped segment, and either one or both of the yarns contains 1.2-10wt.% delusting agent.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject conjugate fiber which is prepared by laminating plural components different in viscosity in the fiber axial direction and having comfortable stretch back properties when formed into a woven or a knitted fabric without using a polyurethane-based yarn by establishing a specific relationship between the breaking elongation and the shrinkage stress. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber is obtained by laminating two components different in viscosity in the fiber axial direction and has the breaking elongation and the shrinkage stress in a relationship of the formula Y>= 6.0×(1/X)) [Y is the shrinkage stress (g/d); X is the breaking elongation (%)] and further >=5 crimps/cm number of developed crimps. The difference in intrinsic viscosity ΔIV of the two components is preferably 0.12-0.35 and the intrinsic viscosity of the low-viscosity component is preferably 0.45-0.55. Furthermore, the intrinsic viscosity of the high-viscosity component is preferably 0.60-0.85 and the compounding ratio of the high-viscosity component to the low-viscosity component is preferably (40/60) to (70/30) expressed in terms of weight ratio.
