Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily and completely clean the interior of a drum for cooling a sheetlike article of molten state contacted with the surface of the outer cylinder of double-wall cylinders by flowing water between double-wall cylinders of inner and outer cylinders by forming a structure that the inner and outer cylinders are separable. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 1 is radially directly supported by a top plate 2, secured axially through a ring 4 to the plate 2, which is secured by welding to a shaft 6. An inner cylinder 8 provided in the cylinder 1 is supported by a stay 9 welded to the shaft 6 and a water passing pipe 10 in such a manner that a suitable annular gap 11 between the cylinders 8 and 1 forms a coolant flowing passage, and communicates through the pipe 10 with a water flowing passage 7. The cylinder 1 is disconnected from a ring 4 by removing bolts 3, 5, pulled leftside with respect to the cylinder 8, and the cylinders 8, 1 are separable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To minimize the fluctuation of pressure and temperature and the ununiformity of temperature of the resin at the outlet of the second stage extruder by connecting the spouting outlet of the first stage extruder to the feed inlet of the second stage extruder by the connecting pipe having stationary mixers arranged in series. CONSTITUTION:The resin supplied from the feed inlet 3 of the first stage extruder 1 is melted under heating, sending said resin in the direction of a screw shaft by the rotation of said screw 5, and it is extruded into a connecting pipe 11 from a spouting outlet 6. The extruded resin passes through every element 13 arranged in series and is fully mixed, when said resin passes through the stationary mixer 12 arranged in the connecting pipe, whereby the fluctuation of pressure and temperature and the ununiformity of temperature are suppressed. Next, the resin is supplied to the second stage extruder 2, and at the outlet of the second stage extruder 2, the molten resin is extruded in the condition where the fluctuation of pressure and temperature and the ununiformity of temperature are minimized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a chain with oilless rail and to prevent a sheet material from being contaminated by oil by coating the surface of a ball bearing with ultra-hard compound. CONSTITUTION:The surfaces of outer race and inner race of ball bearings 5, 6, 7, 8 of a chain 3 for a tenter clip are coated with ultra-hand compound consisting of titanium carbide. Thus, high hardness can be attained, the need of sealing grease is eliminated, and the contact surfaces of rails 2, 4, 9, 10 are substantially oilless, so that a sheet material extended on a tenter is prevented from being contaminated by oil to lengthen its life. The ultra-hard compound is titanium nitride, chrome carbide, titanium carbide/nitride, ceramic oxide, or ceramic.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the reduction of the width of stretched film by a method in which when the film is stretched toward the longitudinal direction between rolls, the film is stretched by clamping only the widthwise both ends of the film on the rolls. CONSTITUTION:A film 1 is stretched between a roll 2 and a roll 3 while its both ends are clamped on the roll 2 by the pressure of a nipple roll 4. In this case, a shrinkage stress acts on the widthwise direction of the film 1 in relation to the elongation toward the longitudinal direction of the film 1. Both ends of the film 1 are positionally regulated sufficiently and held on the roll 2 by the pressure of the nipple roll 4. Since the film 1 is closely adhered to the roll 2, the stretching of the film 1 on the roll 2 is suppressed and the stretching between the rolls 2 and 3, including the upside of the roll 2, is shortened to control the amount of neckdown to the minimum.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject thermoplastic resin sheet that has excellent surface properties without surface defect and is useful as a basic sheet for optics, a sheet for magnetic recording medium, electric insulation sheet and the like by drawing a thermoplastic resin sheet through a specific method in a specific direction. SOLUTION: In the production of an oriented sheet by drawing a thermoplastic resin sheet at least in the longitudinal direction, a process in which the sheet is drawn without contact in the longitudinal direction, as the sheet is held with clips at the edges is provided to produce the objective sheet having a variety of excellent properties, for example, no surface defect, easy slippage, transparency and the like. In a preferred embodiment, after the process stated above, the resin sheet is tentatively removed from the clips, then held with other tentering clips and drawn in the cross direction. The longitudinal orientation is preferably carried out by the pantograph process, the screw process, the linear motor driving process arrd the like. The resin to be sheet-drawn is preferably selected from polyester, polyamide, polyolefin resins.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform accurate measurement by well holding the positional relation between a roll shaped article and a hardness meter at the time of measurement, by inserting a take-up core through a pipe and allowing the hardness meter to vertically position at the vertical upper part of the axis of the roll shaped article in a hung-up state. CONSTITUTION:A roll shaped article 11 formed by winding a sheet like article 12 around a take-up core 13 is mounted on a truck 14. Next, the pipe 2 supported by the first arm 18 of a crane 15 in a cantilevered fashion is inserted through the hollow part 21 of the take-up core 13 and both ends thereof are supported by the second arm 19 of said crane 15. Subsequently, when the pipe 20 is hung up by the crane 15, the take-up core receives centering automatically so that the axis thereof is positioned at the vertical lower part of the axis of the pipe 20 and the detection end 23 of a hardness meter 22 is positioned at the vertical upper part of the axis of said pipe 20. When the hardness meter 22 is controlled so as to be fallen in the this state, the detection end 23 is accurately contacted with the uppermost surface of the roll shaped article 11. By this method, because the hardness meter 22 and the roll shaped article 11 hold most desirable positional relation, surface hardness can be accurately measured without generating no irregularity.
