Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-melt adhesive polyester fiber used for heat resistant cushioning materials in applications exposed to relatively high temperature environment such as vehicle, and provide the cushioning material. SOLUTION: The hot-melt adhesive polyester fiber is constituted by using a polymer prepared by melting and mixing a modified polybutylene terephthalate (polyester A) having 180-220°C melting point and a polyester B having ≤180°C melting point in a weight mixing rate A/B=10/90-80/20. The cushioning material is constituted by adhering a basic fabric with the hot-melt adhesive fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester staple fiber and a fabric composed of the staple having a high fiber strength originally hard to generate a pilling exactly differing from conventional anti-pilling manifestation such as generation of pilling and dropping out. SOLUTION: This is a polyester hollow staple fiber obtained by melt blend spinning of two or more polyesters having different melting points measured by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry). The polyester hollow staple fiber has two or more melting point peaks obtained by temperature increasing method of DSC, and a ratio of areas of the largest melting point peak area (D1) and the second layer melting point peak area (D2) satisfies the relation, 0.3

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polybutylene terephthalate excellent in quality by a method using a continuous direct esterification while suppressing side reactions. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polybutylene terephthalate obtained by performing the esterification of dicarboxylic acids consisting mainly of terephthalic acid with diols consisting mainly of 1,4-butane diol, and then performing a polycondensation reaction of the obtained ester, is to perform a first step of the esterification reaction in the presence of an organic tin compound and substantially without the presence of an organic titanium compound until attaining >=80% rate of the esterification reaction, then a second step of the esterification reaction by adding an organic titanium compound and then the polycondensation reaction of the obtained ester.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a polyester in a shortened esterification reaction time by adding an esterification catalyst to a dicarboxylic acid and a glycol to initiate an esterification reaction, and then adding thereto a glycol contg. an esterification catalyst to effect a polycondensation reaction. SOLUTION: The esterification reaction of 1mol of a dicarboxylic acid contg. at least 50mol% terephthalic acid with 0.4-1.2mol of a glycol contg. at least 70mol% 1,4-butanediol is initiated in the presence of an esterification catalyst. At least 15 minutes after the initiation of the esterification reaction, a mixture of a glycol with an esterfication catalyst is added in an amt. of 0.1 to 1.0mol per mol of the dicarboxylic acid in the reaction system to complete a polycondensation reaction while recovering the glycol.
