Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugated polyester staple fiber having excellent dyeability and strength, and to provide a method for producing the staple fiber. SOLUTION: This polyester conjugated staple fiber has a core and sheath type conjugated cross section and comprises a sheath component A and a core component B. The sheath component A is a copolyester having ethylene terephthalate as an essential repeating unit, and 2.5-6.0 mol% 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid copolymerized as the third component, and the core component B is a polyethylene terephthalate. The weight ratio (A:B) of the conjugated sheath component A to the core component B is regulated so as to be (30:70)-(70:30). The method for producing the polyester conjugate staple fiber comprises melt-spinning the polyester conjugate yarn having (30:70)-(70:30) conjugate weight ratio of the sheath component to the core component, cooling the melt-spun yarn to the temperature equal to or lower than the glass transition temperatures of the sheath component A and the core component B, drawing the cooled melt-spun yarn in warm water at 80-90 deg.C, and cutting the yarn.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester staple fiber and a fabric composed of the staple having a high fiber strength originally hard to generate a pilling exactly differing from conventional anti-pilling manifestation such as generation of pilling and dropping out. SOLUTION: This is a polyester hollow staple fiber obtained by melt blend spinning of two or more polyesters having different melting points measured by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry). The polyester hollow staple fiber has two or more melting point peaks obtained by temperature increasing method of DSC, and a ratio of areas of the largest melting point peak area (D1) and the second layer melting point peak area (D2) satisfies the relation, 0.3

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing nylon staple yarns having crimps excellent in compression resistance or nylon straight staple yarns excellent in straightness, efficiently at low cost. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing nylon raw cotton having crimps is carried out as follows: nylon tows obtained by melt spinning and solidified by cooling are stretched; and subsequently, they are crimped and at the same time heat set with superheated steam to hold crimps. Or, the method for manufacturing nylon straight raw cotton is carried out as follows: nylon tows obtained by melt spinning and solidified by cooling are stretched; and subsequently, they are heat set with superheated steam to improve the straightness of the raw cotton.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester fiber having excellent bulkiness and elastic recovery, giving little permanent set and suitable for the production of a hard cotton for the wadding of a mattress. SOLUTION: An undrawn tow produced by the melt-spinning of a polyethylene terephthalate having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.55-0.7 is drawn at 70-90 deg.C at a draw ratio corresponding to 1.05-1.1 times the natural draw ratio, the drawn yarn is immediately supplied to a stuffing crimping machine supplied with steam of 200-250 deg.C and then the yarn is subjected to relaxed heat-treatment at 140-160 deg.C to obtain the objective polyester fiber having a fineness of >=15 de and a percentage crimp of >=30% and leaving >=90% of crimps after the heat-treatment at 130-150 deg.C for 3-5min based on the crimps before the heat- treatment. A hard cotton is produced by blending the polyester fiber with a binder fiber, forming a curd web and heating the web.
