Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for forming a filament bundle which continuously form a module having a stable shape and size when forming a filament bundle module of a long filament bundle and achieve high productivity and reliability by minimizing the amount of waste thread generated when the apparatus is stopped by trouble. SOLUTION: This filament bundle forming apparatus which forms the filament bundle from a collected filament bundle wound by a filament guide part as a straight filament bundle between a pair of filament bundle holding bars parallelly installed is provided with the filament holing bars installed on both end peripheries of a rotary shaft arranged opposite to the filament guide part, a turret means for rotating the rotary shaft, a collected filament transfer means for removing the collected filament bundle from the filament holding bars, a filament bundle receiving means for receiving the collected filament bundle, and a filament bundle receiving means-carrying means for circulating the filament bundle receiving means.
