    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reasonably and economically produce a high temperature oven and improve the productivity of carbon fibers by arranging respective fiber blocks in plural compact stages in the high temperature oven. CONSTITUTION:A fiber belt Y comprising acrylic filaments arranged in parallel in a lateral line as organic precursors is guided into a low temperature oven in a 200-300 deg.C oxidative atmosphere and subjected to a travel in a zigzag state for a flame-resistant treatment. The fiber belt Y is divided into four fiber blocks Y1-Y4, subjected to the change of the traveling directions with the second rollers 21-24, the third rollers 31-34 and the fourth rollers 41-44, and subsequently guided into an inert atmosphere high temperature oven 1 heated to a temperature of >600 deg.C through overlapped four fiber guides vertically having distances to convert the fibers into carbon fibers, which are taken up with the fifth rollers 51-54. Grooved rollers are used as at least the second rollers 21-24 and the fourth rollers 41-44, and the inclination angle & between the inlet side and the exit side of each grooved roller is controlled so as to satisfy an inequality: theta mu100 (T is tension) for the prevention of fuzzes.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize the fluidization of a fluidized bed apparatus by a method wherein cylindrical bodies having an inlet hole and an outlet hole for a running thread or band material are partly formed of perforated plates or porous plates with fine through-holes leading to the outside of the fluidized bed and having diameters smaller than the mean diameter of fluidized particles. CONSTITUTION:A running thread- or band-like material, e.g. a carbon fiber precursor, is introduced into a fluidized bed 1 through an inlet hole 6 provided in the side wall of a frame 2, continuously or intermittently travels through the fluidized bed 2 as it is kept in specified conditions, and goes outside through an outlet hole 7 provided on the side of the frame 2. The inlet and outlet holes 6 and 7 each consist of a cylindrical body 8 which is partly formed of a perforated plate or a porous plate 9 with fine through-holes leading to the outside of the fluidized bed 1 and having diameters smaller than the mean diameter of fluidized particles. Thereby, the fluidized particles deposit and naturally form a dike surrounding the material to be treated, so that an excellent sealing effect is produced and the fluidized particles are kept from leaking.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject device preventing the invasion of outer air, etc., from inlets and outlets for a fiber to be treated for energy saving and further preventing the contamination of tars by sealing the inlets and outlets due to contact between the fiber and a heat-resistant fiber. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant fiber (e.g. fluorofiber) 7 resisting to a flame- resistant treatment temperature of 300-400 deg.C and not giving any damage to a fiber to be treated when rubbed with the fiber is disposed on the inlet or outlet (sealing portion) 5 of a flame-resistant treatment oven 1 of a heat treatment device for preparing carbon fiber to provide the objective device. A fiber 2 to be treated, such as a filament of phenolic organic polymer, is fed into a flame-resistant treatment oven 1, brought into contact with carbon particles, etc., and subsequently passed through an outlet in a sealing state contacting with a heat-resistant fiber 7.
