Abstract: Improved photo-oxidation apparatus for purifying water, which has at least two reaction chambers each connected by water passageways with neighboring chambers, and which has in each chamber, sources of ultraviolet light dipped practically vertically into the water to be treated and fixed by holders placed above the surface of the water. The apparatus is also equipped with nozzles through which gas, usually containing oxygen, is supplied, and with inlets for oxidizing agents, catalysts or photosensitizers in at least two of these chambers or sections.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a form which is light in weight and has high strength and good releasability and can be repeatedly used by using a form material wherein a molding surface having a three dimensional pattern is formed on a sheet composed mainly of polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION: A form for casting concrete 10 is constituted of a form material 1 in which a molding surface 4 having a three-dimensional pattern such as a stone-fence pattern or the like is formed on a sheet composed mainly of polyolefin resin and having a thickness of 0.5-5.0mm. A panel board 2 is attached to the rear surface of the material 1 comprising the sheet and a space 3 is interposed between the opposed surfaces of the material 1 and the board 2, while the outer peripheries of the material 1 and the board 2 are brought into contact with each other. It is preferable to provide at least one protrusion per 1m on the opposed surface region of the material 1 and the board 2, where a part of the material 1 contacts the board 2. Consequently, even if the form 10 is light in weight, it has a high strength and high mold-releasability and can be used repeatedly.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-damping sheet-like material which shows excel lent vibration-damping effects especially at -20-120 deg.C, and besides, can be manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: A mold-releasing paper 2 is applied, at least, to the whole one surface of a sheet 1 formed of a mixture consisting of 10-40 pts.wt. of butyl rubber, 10-40 pts.wt. of polyolefin resin or its modified product, 5-30 pts.wt. of viscosity-donating resin, 1-10 pts.wt. of softener and 5-50 pts.wt. of filler totaling 100 pts.wt. In addition, on one surface of the sheet 1, a biaxially or triadally woven fabric or a reticular material 3 and the mold-releasing paper 2 are applied as a covering, and the biaxially or triaxially woven fabric or the reticular material 3 may be applied on the other surface. Further, the biaxially or triaxially woven fabric or the reticular material 3 and the mold- releasing paper 2 may be applied to the one surface of the sheet 1, and a metal foil may be applied as a covering to the other surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the shock absorbing property of a protective fence and prevent the bottoming to a fence face even when impact force is large by cutting a cylindrical object having a specific shape and made of a polyolefin resin with a specific expansion ratio at a specific length, and installing multiple objects on the fence in the closely stuck state. SOLUTION: A polyolefin resin is foamed 10-100 times to form a cylindrical object 1 having the maximum outer diameter of 400 m/m or below and the minimum inner diameter of 20 m/m or above, it is cut at the maximum length of 10 m or below and the minimum length of 0.3 m or above in view of the machining property, execution property, and transportation property, and multiple objects 1 are installed on a fence formed with wall face concrete slabs 2 adjacently and closely to each other in the vertical or horizontal direction. The flexibility by the semihardness of this polyolefin resin foam body itself, the buffer property by an independent bubble structure, and the buffer property of the cylindrical space are comprehensively utilized to absorb a shock more safely when a human body collides with it. Even when impact force is large, no bottoming occurs to the fence face, its breakage is prevented, and the human body can be safely protected.
