    Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow electron beam to reach the whole fluorescent surface by setting the vertical dia. of a vertically outermost slit of a shadow mask below 1/2 of the vertical dia. of slit in the central part over the whole circumference in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:In a shadow mask 30 the vertical direction dia. Dv of the outermost slit 31 in vertical direction is smaller than the vertical direction dia. Dc of a slit 32 in the central part of the shadow mask, i.e., set below 1/2. Accordingly at the time of exposure as the process to form fluorescent surface stripes, the intensity of the light passing through this outermost slit is decreased, and only the vertical direction dia. of the fluorescent surface is shrunk to provide practicability of being identical to the raster dia. formed by the electron beam in deflective scanning. Thereby non light emission region to be otherwise generated at the vertical ends of the fluorescent surface is eliminated to allow electron beam reach the whole fluorescent surface.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively and surely execute the demagnetization of a magnetic substance by impressing a commercial power source to a demagnetization coil and demagnetization after interrupting at least one of a vertical direction scanning circuit and a horizontal direction scanning circuit and making it off. CONSTITUTION:The demagnetization coil 34 is wound around the outside of a cone part 31 of a color picture tube, after interrupting either a vertical direction scanning circuit or a horizontal direction scanning circuit and making it off, a commercial power source is impressed to the demagnetization coil 34 and metallic parts in tube 26, 27 and 33 are demagnetized. Thus, since a deflecting circuit is made to be acted after completing the demagnetization, the effective and sure demagnetization in which the effect of the magnetic field of the deflecting circuit is given, can be executed extremely easily and picture quality in a practical condition can be evaluated qualifiedly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate error of concentration of a central beam and outside beams by providing, at the upper and lower positions with respect to the neck side in-line array line of a pair of vertical coils, a pair of permanent magnets magnetized in the direction of film thickness and disposed in specified directions.
    CONSTITUTION: A pair of permanent magnet pieces 17, 18 magnetized in the direction of film thickness are disposed at the upper and lower positions with respect to the neck side in-line array line of a pair of vertical deflecting coils 15, the upper permanent magnet piece 17 being magnetized in such a manner that S pole thereof faces to the tube axis and N pole faces to the upper vertical deflecting coil and the lower permanent magnet piece 18 being magnetized in such a manner that N pole thereof faces to the tube axis and S pole faced to the lower vertical deflecting coil. The magnetic field 19 caused by residual magnetism of magnetic pieces can be removed by adjustment of intensity of magnetization and shape of the permanent magnet pieces. Furthermore, when the horizontal width (l) of the permanent magnet pieces is set to be smaller than double the space s between a central electron beam emitting port and an outside electron beam emitting port of an electron gun, the magnetic field strength acting on the central electron beam becomes greater than that acting on the outside electron beam.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate error of concentration of a central electron beam and outside electron beams at the center of the screen by providing, on both sides of the in-line array line of electron beams, means for generating a magnetic field different from a deflecting field which is directed from one side to the other of the direction normal to the in-line array line. CONSTITUTION:A pair of permanent magnet pieces 17, 18 are disposed on the upper and lower sides of the outer periphery of a neck portion respectively, when the in-line array line of a color TV picture tube is located at the center thereof, the magnet piece 17 being disposed in such a manner that S pole thereof faces to an electron gun and N pole is on the other side and the magnet piece 18 being disposed in such a manner that N pole thereof faces to the electron gun and S pole is on the other side. When electron beams pass through the magnetic field 19, the electron beams are slightly deflected to the right in the screen. The shape and intensity of magnetization of a pair of permanent magnet pieces can be properly selected so that the central electron beam 2 may receive the effect stronger than the outside electron beams 1, 3, causing the central electron beam 2 to be relatively largely deflected to the right in the screen in comparison with the outside electron beams 1, 3.
