Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dewatering solvent compsn. which is nonflammable, is excellent in dewatering performance, and hardly affects the environment by compounding 1- or 2-bromopropane with a specific compd. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. 1- or 2- bromopropane with 5-20 pts.wt. compd. of the formula: R (Cn H2n+1 O)m R (wherein R and R are each H, a 1-10C satd. hydrocarbon group, or benzyl provided they are not simultaneously H; (n) is 2-4; and (m) is 1-4) and optionally 0.1-5 pts.wt. at least one additive selected from among a stabilizer (e.g. nitromethane, nitroethane, or nitropropane), an antioxidant (e.g. thymol, BHT, or hydrocatechin), and an anticorrosive agent (e.g. benzotriazole). When this compsn. is used for removing water attached to an article, immersion alone can provide a sufficient effect, though the joint use of stirring, shaking, and ultrasonic wave irradiation can provide a further enhanced effect.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dewatering solvent compsn. which exhibits excellent flame retardance and dewatering performance while hardly affecting the environment by incorporating 1- or 2-bromoprppane and a salt formed by the reaction of a 6-12C aliph. monocarboxylic acid with a 6-12C aliph. prim. monoamine into the same. SOLUTION: n-Caproic acid, or the like are listed as the aliph. monocarboxylic acid. n-Hexylamine, or the like, are listed as the aliph. prim. monoamine. A salt of such a monocarboxylic acid, and such a monoamine (a carboxylic acid amine) is incorporated pref. in an amt. of 0.1-5 wt.% into a dewatering solvent. The solvent compsn. can be prepd. by directly adding the monocarboxylic acid and the monoamine to 1- or 2-bromopropane. In this case, a nitroalkane may be added as a stabilizer, pref. in an amt. of 0.1-5 wt.% of bromopropane.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove an interfering substance adversely affecting the measurement of sugar-alcohol via simple operation, and improve the measurement accuracy thereof by using a pre-treatment column of specific constitution. CONSTITUTION:An interfering substance removal column used for pre-treatment supplies a bio-originated sample presumed to contain 1,5-anhydroglucitol (1, 5-AG), together with transfer liquid 1. In addition, strong base ion exchange resin to be charged into the column has a grain size of 100mum per wave and at least a part of the grains has ion exchange capacity equal to or above 0.7eq/ml. Also, total ion exchange capacity is equal to or above 0.4meq and removal limiting molecular weight is equal to or less than 50,000. For the measurement of 1, 5-AG as sugar-alcohol, the transfer liquid 1 is carried on the operation of a pump 3, and supplied to an ion exchange resin filled column 6, together with a sample with a sample filling device 5, thereby removing a sugar ingredient and protein. The liquid after the column 6 is made to join a transfer liquid 2, and supplied to a reactor column 7 on the operation of a pump 4, thereby detecting post-reaction absorbance at a process 8 for treatment at a process 9.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover high-purity rare earth elements at a high recovery rate by using a spherical cation exchanger having a sulfonic acid group and a weakly acidic cation exchange group for the cation exchanger at the time of separating the rare earth elements from each other by using a complex forming agent and the cation exchanger. CONSTITUTION:The spherical cation exchanger having the sulfonic acid group and the weakly acidic cation exchange group is used for the cation exchanger at the time of subjecting the rare earth elements to a chromatographic sepn. by using the complex forming agent and the cation exchanger. The sphericity of >=90% of this cation exchanger is about =80% of the entire particle is about 0.5 to 1.5 times the average grain size. The total cation exchange capacity is specified to about 0.5 to 10meq/g on a dry basis. The weakly acidic cation exchange group is preferably a carboxylic acid group and the exchange capacity thereof is preferably about 5 to 90% of the total cation exchange capacity. EDTA, HEDTA, DCPA, etc., are used for the complex forming agent and the pH of the aq. soln. thereof is specified to about 4 to 10.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydro-extracted solvent composition which is little in influence on an environment while an incombustible and excellently hydro- extracted performance is provided by a method wherein a compound expressed by a specific formula is contained by a specific amount in a specific amount of 1-bromopropane or 2-bromopropane. SOLUTION: In the cases wherein precision parts, optical parts or the like are washed with a water based washing agent and water and a hydro-extracted solvent composition having 1-bromopropane or 2-bromopropane as a main constituent is used for removal of water after washing, the hydro-extracted composition is prepared by containing 1 to 10 pts.wt. of a compound expressed by the formula in 100 pts.wt. of 1-bromopropane or 2-bromopropane. In the formula, (n) and (m) indicate each an integer of 1 to 5. In the 1-bromopropane or 2- bromopropane to be used, further as a stabilizer, one or more kinds to be selected from nitroalkanes, epoxides, benzotriazoles, phenols, or the like. can be contained.
