SOLUTION: In the rotary atomization type coater (1), the rotary atomization head (5) mounted to a distal end of a tubular rotation shaft (3) is provided with an outer bell (6) and an inner bell (7) provided at an inner side of it and the coating fed from a feed pipe (4) inserted to the tubular rotation shaft (4) is made flowing from a coating chamber (8) formed at a back surface side of the inner bell (7) to a rim part (10) of the outer bell (6) spreading to a front surface side of the inner bell (7) to perform atomization at its distal end. The inner bell (7) is mounted to an inner bell mounting base seat (S) formed on a back surface opening (12) of the outer bell (6). While the coater 1 is operated, air is all floated continuously in the storage space 6 to prevent the formation of condensation, and even if the condensation should be formed, the evaporation of condensed water is accelerated by ventilation, and the troubles such as the submersion inside the storage space 6 and the generation of defective operation of the color change valves 8 are eliminated securely.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the occurrence of coating defect, such as color mingling and blobs, by making it possible to surely remove the liquid drops of a coating material even if these liquid drops stick to the outer peripheral part at the front end of a coating material nozzle for supplying the coating material into the rotary atomizing head of an electrostatic coater. SOLUTION: An air flow passage 15 for ejecting air into the rotary atomizing head 2 is formed through the clearance between a tubular revolving shaft 5 and the coating material supply nozzle 3 from an air inflow port 13 formed at the rear end of the tubular revolving shaft 5. The clearance between the nozzle insertion hole 2a of the rotary atomizing head 2 which is the air outflow port 14 of the air flow passage 15 and the coating material supply nozzle 3 is formed narrow to the extent that the air velocity to blow off the drops of the coating material sticking to the front end of the coating material supply nozzle 3 is obtainable. In addition, the front end of the coating material supply nozzle 3 is formed approximately flush with the inner peripheral surface 2b of the rotary atomizing head 2.
