    Abstract: PURPOSE:To raise the thermal decomposition initiation temperature by heating an acrylic resin consisting of methyl methacrylate and a specified comonomer under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic resin which consists of at least 90wt.% methyl methacrylate and at most 10wt.% comonomer causing neither crosslinking nor cyclization under the modification conditions and which is freed from a radical initiator used for the polymerization or its residue and unreacted monomers, such as methyl methacrylate, as much as possible is heated at 200-350 deg.C for at least 10min in an inert gas atmosphere or after dissolving in a solvent such as toluene or tetrahydrofuran.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently adsorb and remove beta2-micro globulin created in the blood of a patient to execute the dialysis for a long time by using an adsorbent composed by coupling a special compound through the compound having two isocyanate groups or above in a molecule for a water insoluble high polymer compound having a hydroxyl group. CONSTITUTION:Hexamethylenediisocyanate is preferable as bifunctional isocyanate or polyethylene glycol is preferable as the compound shown by an expression (I) while the absorption activity of the obtained adsorbent is higher. For the water insoluble high polymer compound having a hydroxyl groop, the compound in the drying condition is used. The reaction is executed by suspending a water insoluble high polymer compound having the hydroxyl group to an organic solvent, adding the compound having two isocyanate groups or above in the molecule and agitating at 30-110 deg.C. The reactant is inhaled and filtered, cleaned repeatedly with water and ordinarily, preserved in the wet condition in a physiological salt water. In the expression, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are mutually independent, express the alkari group of a hydrogen atom or the number 1-3 of carbon and an (n) shows the integer of 10-200.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bis(hydroxyphenyl)methane having excellent corrosion resistance and useful for epoxy resin, etc., in high efficiency, selectivity and yield by reacting a phenolic compound with an aliphatic aldehyde, etc., under specific condition and recovering and reusing heteropolyacid, etc. CONSTITUTION:A phenolic compound (e.g. phenol) is made to react with an aliphatic aldehyde (e.g. formaldehyde) or an aromatic aldehyde (e.g. benzaldehyde) in a mixed solvent composed of water and an inert solvent such as benzene in the presence of a heteropolyacid or its water-soluble salt (e.g. phosphotungstic acid). The bis(hydroxyphenyl)methane compound of formula (R is H, alkyl or halogen; R is H, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl) is recovered from the organic layer of the reaction mixture and the heteropolyacid or its water-soluble salt is recovered from the aqueous phase and reused in the reaction of the phenolic compound with the aldehyde.

SOLUTION: This polyamide consisting essentially of diamines comprising an alicyclic diamine having one cyclohexane ring and dicarboxylic acids comprising a 6-22C branched type saturated carboxylic acid has a preferable composition of 50-99.95 mol.% lactam and/or aminocarboxylic acid, 0.025-25 mol.% diamine and 0.025-25 mol.% dicarboxylic acid, and regulated so that 5-100 mol.% of the diamines may consist of an alicyclic diamine, and 5-100 mol.% of the dicarboxylic acids may consist of a 6-22C branched type saturated carboxylic acid.
