A gas turbine engine inlet door control system includes an actuator, an engine controller and a door controller. The actuator opens and closes an inlet door of a gas turbine engine. The engine controller determines an intermediate door position based upon one or more engine start factors. The door controller operates the actuator to open the inlet door to the intermediate door position based on the one or more engine start factors.

Un sistema de control de puerta de admisión de motor de turbina de gas (10) que comprende: un actuador (18) para abrir y cerrar una puerta de admisión (20) de un motor de turbina de gas; un controlador de motor (14) para determinar una posición de puerta intermedia en base a uno o más factores de arranque del motor; y un controlador de puerta (16) para operar el actuador (18) para abrir la puerta de admisión (20) a la posición de puerta intermedia en base a uno o más factores de arranque del motor, caracterizado por que el controlador de puerta (16) está configurado para operar el actuador (18) para abrir la puerta de admisión (20), y mantener la puerta de admisión (20) en una posición completamente abierta siguiendo al encendido del motor de turbina de gas, y por que ese encendido del motor de turbina de gas se detecta por el controlador de motor (16) en base a la detección de una velocidad predeterminada del motor de turbina de gas.

Plated polymeric gas turbine engine parts and methods for fabricating lightweight plated polymeric gas turbine engine parts are disclosed. The parts include a polymeric substrate plated with one or more metal layers. The polymeric material of the polymeric substrate may be structurally reinforced with materials that may include carbon, metal, or glass. The polymeric substrate may also include a plurality of layers to form a composite layup structure.
