Abstract: A system and method for a pre-print, three-dimensional virtual rendering of a print job is disclosed. A plurality of modular/pipelined architectural layers 220-250 are managed, operated, and organized by a controller. A print product definition 210 is provided to a job ticket adaptation layer 220 where it is transformed into a physical model 270. The physical model 270 is then transformed into a display model 280 via the product model layer. The display model 280 is transformed into a scene 290 that can be displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI) as a 3D virtual rendering by a rendering layer, where the rendering includes one or more binding elements to satisfy the print product definition. The binding elements may further include 3D binding models as well as 2D textures on 3D surfaces to simulate 3D models. The modularity further enables different product description formats to be supported by only altering the job ticket adaption layer, and that different graphics rendering engines can be supported by altering only the rendering layer. The binding elements and associated metadata define the type of print product binding, which the user may select via the GUI from a group consisting of: spiral binder, comb binder, plastic comb binder, wire comb binder, tape binder, glue binding, stitch, ring binder, paper clips and spring clips.

The second watermark information may be used to synchronize the first watermark information and to detect editing information which does not change pixel values. After editing, only those edited portions of the image need ha ve their embedded data reapplied.

Abstract: A color marking device including a control system for calibration of the device based upon dynamic color balance control of an output image. The system comprises a front end converter for converting an input signal representativ e of a target image comprising a preselected color into a device-dependent control signal in accordance with a device TRC, a color marking device for outputting an outpu t image in response to the control signal, a sensor for measuring a parameter from t he output image representative of a color of the output image, and, a point-wise controller for comparing the parameter with a corresponding parameter from the target image and constructing adjusted controlled points for the device TRC when the measured parameter and the corresponding parameter vary by a preselected value, a col or balance controller for constructing an adjusted device TRC from the controll ed points, whereby subsequently generated output images are output with the adjusted device TRC and, more accurately represent target input images.
