Abstract:
A manufacturing method of a multicolored interior member is provided in the present invention. Said manufacturing method comprises a base member and a surface member attached on a surface of said base member comprising; forming concave groove(s) in preset portion(s) of said base member, tucking said surface member into said concave groove(s) to form parting line, covering said surface member attached on one side from said parting line with a masking member, forming an engaging flange at the end edge of said masking member, inserting said engaging flange into the crevice of said parting line to fix said masking member, and then coating said surface member attached on the other side from said parting line with a different color from the color of the surface member attached on one side from said parting line.

A curable, aqueous film-forming composition is provided, comprising: (a) a copolymer containing reactive functional groups and comprising at least 30 mol % of residues having alternating structural units: -[DM-AM]- wherein DM represents a residue from a donor monomer, and AM represents a residue from an acceptor monomer, at least 15 mol % of the copolymer comprising a donor monomer having the structure (I): wherein R 1 is linear or branched C 1 to C 4 alkyl, R 2 is selected from methyl, linear, cyclic or branched C 1 to C 20 alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl and aralkyl; and (b) a curing agent having functional groups reactive with the reactive functional groups of (a). The invention is also directed to a multi-component composite coating composition including a base coat deposited from a pigmented film-forming composition and a transparent topcoat applied over the base coat. At least one-coat is the film-forming composition described above.

An adsorbent for whole blood in the form of essentially spherical non-aggregated particles. The adsorbent comprises a porous carrier material having an average pore size of null1.5 nullm, whereby a maximum of 50% of the pore volume may be in pores having a pore size of >1.5 nullm, whereby the outer surfaces of the porous carrier material have at least one surface modification M1 so that the outer surface essentially does not interact with blood cells, and the inner surfaces of the porous carrier material, e.g., the surfaces of the pores of the porous carrier material, have at least one surface modification M2 which interacts with substances present in blood.

Abstract:
A primer composed of a polymer solution is applied to a roughened metal surface, and a polymer material such as a pre-preg is applied to the treated metal surface to form a bond between the metal and the polymer material.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods are disclosed for preventing the oxidative corrosion of metal surfaces by exposing a metal surface to an anti-corrosion agent characterized as a lower alkyl carboxylic acid or salts and/or other derivatives that conserve or embody the lower alkyl carboxylic acid moiety present in their molecular structures as an active anti-corrosion agent. The anti-corrosion agent may be used in combination with a material capable of forming a moisture retentive barrier over the metal surface. The compositions and methods of the invention provide a practical, non-toxic way of ensuring anti-corrosion protection for metals, or devices containing exposed metals, stored or operated in water or in the presence of water vapor. Exemplary, non-exhaustive uses of the invention include employing the composition as lubricant for the surface of a metal or as a pump oil or brake fluid; using the composition as an undercoating for painting, electro-plating or electro-polishing procedures; and providing a protective coating for any metal or metal-containing machine or device, form automotive assembly plant metal press machines to electronic circuit boards.
Abstract:
Solute-loaded polymer microparticles are obtained by immersing microparticles in a bath comprising a selected solute dissolved in a ternary solvent system. A first solvent of the ternary system is a strong solvent for both the solute and the polymer from which the microparticle was formed. A second solvent is a weak solvent or non-solvent for the solute and the polymer (tuning solvent). A third solvent is a weak solvent or non-solvent for the solute and polymer, but serves as a co-solvent with respect to the first and second solvents in that it is miscible with both the first and second solvents. The amount of solute incorporated into the microparticles is controlled by adjusting the ratio of solute with respect to the microparticle polymer, and by adjusting the composition of the ternary solvent system, principally the amount of tuning solvent. The method is particularly useful for providing libraries of combinatorially encoded microparticles containing distinguishable dye loadings, particularly distinguishable fluorescent dye loadings.
Abstract:
Low dielectric constant layered materials and a methof for making said layered materials comprising the steps of: a) providing a surface; b) spinning a dielectric material on to the surface; c) curing the dielectric material to form a dielectric layer; d) spinning a low dielectric constant material on to the dielectric layer; and e) curing the low dielectric constant material to form a low dielectric constant layer. Each layer can be spun-on to the layered component and subsequently cured before additional layers are added or all layers can be spun-on to the layered component and then the entire stack is cured at once.
