Abstract: A method for controlling a switching mode power supply is disclosed. An auxiliary winding feedback voltage of the switching mode power supply is sampled and held to obtain an auxiliary winding sample hold voltage. The auxiliary winding feedback voltage is sampled and held at an inflection point time to obtain an auxiliary winding inflection point voltage when the switching mode power supply operates in DCM or CRM. A secondary rectifier forward voltage signal is generated based on the auxiliary winding sample hold voltage and the auxiliary winding inflection point voltage before the switching mode power supply operates in CCM. A correction voltage is provided based on the secondary rectifier forward voltage signal when the switching power supply operates in CCM. An error amplifier signal is generated based on the correction voltage. The output power of the switching mode power supply is adjusted based on the error amplifier signal.

Abstract: A power supply control circuit for controlling a charging process of a power supply capacitor to produce a power supply voltage to power a power control chip is disclosed. The power supply control circuit has a charging switch controlled by a charging control signal, and the power supply capacitor is coupled to an input voltage when the charging switch is on. The power supply control circuit further has a charging control circuit, configured to provide the charging control signal to control the charging switch based on the input voltage, the power supply voltage and a voltage threshold. Thus a high turns ratio of an auxiliary winding to a secondary winding is not necessary, high voltage devices are not needed and the power dissipation caused by the high voltage is also reduced.

Abstract: A method for controlling a switching mode power supply is disclosed. Abstract: A controller of a switching converter includes an error amplifying circuit, a first comparison circuit, a valley detection circuit, a valley selection circuit and a frequency control circuit. The error amplifying circuit generates a compensation signal based on the difference between a reference signal and a feedback signal. The first comparison circuit compares the compensation signal with a modulation signal and generates a pulse frequency modulation signal. The valley detection circuit detects valleys of a resonant voltage of the switching converter and generates a valley pulse signal. The valley selection circuit generates a valley enable signal corresponding to a target valley number based on the pulse frequency modulation signal and the valley pulse signal. The frequency control circuit generates a frequency control signal to control the switching frequency of the first switch based on the valley enable signal and the valley pulse signal.

Abstract: A circuit for controlling a switching mode power supply having a power switch. The switching mode power supply includes a power switch. When the load of the switching mode power supply is under the certain load level, the light load pulse circuit provides a light load pulse signal to control the power switch operating at different switching frequencies wherein the different switching frequencies includes at least two switching frequencies.
