Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for dispensing a liquid are described. Apparatuses and systems can dispense a liquid in a dispense operation at a dispense rate from a start point on a substrate surface to a terminate point on the substrate surface. A measurement device can detect geometric parameters of a shape formed by the dispensed liquid on the substrate surface. Control circuitry can control at least one of an approach speed at which the dispenser approaches the start point prior to the dispense operation and an exiting speed at which the dispenser moves away from the terminate point subsequent to the dispense operation based on the detected geometric parameters of the shape. Algorithms can operate on remote or local software and control systems, or as part of an edge computing system or Internet of Things (IoT) system.

The control unit determines the coating quality based on a comparison between the thickness data acquired from the inspection unit and the retrieved thickness requirement data as second additional part vector. The first and second additional part vectors are fed back as additional parts to the next input vector for the machine learning instance.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a unit cell having a negative electrode, a separator, and a positive electrode are stacked and placed between guide rollers. The separator is coated with a binder, and the separator is dipped in a solvent to soften a cured binder before the separator is put between the guide rollers. An apparatus for manufacturing a unit cell includes a reservoir in which at least two or more transfer rollers that rotate while the separator passes therethrough are mounted, and a solvent is stored at a predetermined level; and a chamber into which the separator passing through a reservoir is put together with the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Guide rollers are disposed so that the negative electrode and the positive electrode move to both surfaces of the separator, respectively.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved fluid dispensing process control using a machine learning tool are disclosed. In an example method, successive portions of viscous fluid are dispensed by a dispensing device according to operating parameters to train a machine learning tool to associate defect classifications with images of dispensed portions and/or operating parameters associated with dispensing the dispensed portions. The trained machine learning tool is then used in a closed loop fashion in production to detect and correct for defects associated with the dispensed portions to improve quality and production efficiency.
