A closed apparatus (10) and method for coating the interior of a tank (12) includes a plurality of interconnected conduits (36, 40, 60, 178), valves (34, 58) and a pump (62) for supplying a coating solution to the tank and draining the tank while containing deleterious fumes. Another plurality of conduits (66, 42), valve (64), and a pump (68) can work therewith to supply a hot curing solution to the tank.

A method of lining a pipe with settable material including the steps of arranging the pipe with its longitudinal axis inclined at an angle to the horizontal, introducing a selected amount of liquid material into the pipe at a predetermined rate so that the liquid material flows down along the pipe, shifting the pipe to a horizontal position and spinning the pipe about its axis to distribute the material, spinning continuing until the material has set. The method is particularly applicable for lining pipes with polyurethane. For pipes with end flanges end faces of the lining material can be formed integral with the lining.

Positive pressure devices for coating the internal surfaces of open-ended, hollow, elongated structures with uniform, adherent, fluid coatings comprise (i) a pressurizable container for the fluid, having a structure-receiving opening in the top, (ii) removable means for holding the structures to be coated vertically in the opening of the container and for providing a pressure tight seal at the opening, and (iii) means for pressurizing the surface of the fluid and for interrupting and releasing the pressure when the fluid rises to a pre-determined height in the structures to be coated.

This invention relates to an apparatus for coating the inside of tubular film manufactured by a blown film process. The coating apparatus includes a dispensing means comprising a coating conduit passing through a tubular film die into a pressurized area of the said film with a distributing means connected to the coating conduit, said distributing means include a vaporizing means having temperature control means.

A method and apparatus for interior painting of pipe, particularly of small diameter, is characterized by filling of a pipe with both ends open with paint, hanging the pipe vertical and passing a ball of a diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the pipe from the upper end of the pipe to fall down by its gravity through the pipe and strip off excessive paint so as to form a film of uniform thickness of paint of the inner surface of the pipe.

In order to preserve vehicle bodies, a common plant is used, which plant is configured both for flooding and for spraying. The plant makes use of a common feed system and is operated with the same preservative for the spraying and the flooding.
