At least one lubricant applicator may be retractable and may be actuated between a retracted position and an extended position by centripetal force. The apparatus may further include a positioning assembly supporting the base and the rotary bucket assembly and a controller connected to and controlling each of:—the positioning assembly, the cleaning unit, the drying unit, and the lubricating unit.
Abstract:
A method for sealing a joint gap between mutually joined elements, at least one of which is a sheet, by applying a joint gap seal involves preheating an area of the joined elements to which the joint gap seal is to be applied. A polymer powder is introduced into a plasma jet to form a plasma and powder jet directed towards the preheated region of the elements. Polymer particles melted in the plasma and powder jet are deposited as joint gap seal.

Abstract:
Apparatus for forming and fibrillating a molten polymeric film into nanofibers consisting of a plurality of two-phase flow spinning nozzles arranged in a substantially liner array each nozzle into nanofibers including one or more first input orifices for a process gas; one or more second input orifices for a polymer melt; a flow channel including two or more channel walls and a monotonically decreasing flow area wherein the process gas and polymer melt are combined into a stratified two phase flow with the polymer melt formed into a film on one or more of the channel walls; and one or more channel exit openings, each exit opening including an edge at which the process gas reaches sonic velocity or less and where the edge is configured to fibrillate the polymeric film into a stream of nanofibers.
Abstract:
A radiant convection oven for baking a coating on an article which includes an oven enclosure receiving coating articles, a fan receiving fresh air and directing the fresh air to a burner or burners, a plurality of heat radiators each having an internal chamber receiving heated fresh air from the burner. The radiators are located within the oven opposite a coating article, radiating heat energy to the coated article, and a plurality of nozzles connected to the internal chamber of the radiators directing fresh heated onto the article, transferring convection heat energy to the coated article. In the disclosed embodiment, the radiators include radiating side and bottom walls having a relatively shallow depth, increasing the flow rate through the radiators, reducing the size and cost of the radiators and the fan.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is drawn to coated media substrates, as well as related systems and methods. In one example, a coated media substrate for inkjet ink printing can comprise an ink-receiving layer coated on at least one side of a substrate, and can be formulated for accepting an inkjet ink composition. The ink-receiving layer can comprise an optical brightening agent, an organic acid salt, a binder, a pigment, and a low-molecular weight polymeric carrier having a weighted average molecular weight less than 50,000 Mw.
Abstract:
A method of producing a printed image on a low-porous or non-porous medium. The method encompasses applying a pretreatment fluid including a liquid vehicle, at least one polymeric binder, and an associative thickener to the low-porous or non-porous medium; and applying an aqueous pigment ink composition to the pretreatment fluid applied to the low-porous or non-porous medium, wherein the pretreatment fluid has a viscosity of about 10 cps to about 1000 cps and a surface tension of about 16 dynes/cm to about 30 dynes/cm and the viscosity of the pretreatment fluid allows mixing of the pigment ink composition with the pretreatment fluid.
Abstract:
A method for the application of an aqueous treatment solution to the surface of a strip which is moving at a preset trip speed, includes the following steps: spraying the aqueous treatment solution onto at least one rotating roll of a roll coater with a rotary sprayer having spray rotors disposed side by side in the longitudinal direction of the roll, to which the aqueous treatment solution is supplied and which are made to rotate by a spray rotor drive so that the treatment solution, driven by the centrifugal force, is sprayed in the form of a spray jet onto the surface of the roll; and applying the aqueous treatment solution to at least one surface of the strip by moving the strip past a rotating application roll of the roll coater, with the application roll transferring the aqueous treatment solution in the form of a wet film onto the surface of the strip. Additionally, related to the method, there are an application device having a roll coater and a rotary sprayer as well as to a system for carrying out the method.
Abstract:
An implantable medical device is provided having a plurality of interstices including concave or convex shaped coatings. The concave or convex shaped coatings are configured to straighten and then stretch as the implantable medical device is compressed or elongated, thereby delaying the onset of wrinkling in the coating material. The implantable medical device may include a tubular body having a central body portion and a flange of greater diameter than the central body portion.
