Abstract:
A floor marking tape has a structure that retains the adhesive under the tape to prevent the adhesive from being squeezed out from under the tape when the tape is in use on a floor. In one embodiment, the structure is a shoulder that defines a recess that holds the bulk of the adhesive. The shoulder prevents the adhesive from flowing out to the outer edge of the tape. The tape may have beveled edges that limit the unintentional lifting and delamination of the tape from the floor. The upper surface of the tape may be curved from edge-to-edge to limit dirt retention on the tape as well as allowing objects to slide over the tape.
Abstract:
A tape and masking material composite including a sheet of masking material, and a length of pressure sensitive adhesive coated tape adhered to a first surface along a first edge of the sheet of masking material with the tape having a longitudinal pressure sensitive adhesive covered portion extending past the first edge of the sheet of masking material. The masking material has removable pressure sensitive adhesive on a second major surface opposite its first major surface at least including on and along a portion of that second surface along a second edge opposite its first edge.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an adhesive article which provides air egress. Air egress is provided by supplying a route, such as areas of no initial adhesion for the air to flow out from under the construction. The invention relates to an adhesive article comprising a facestock having a front surface and a back surface, a continuous layer of adhesive having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the upper surface of the adhesive layer is adhered to the back surface of the facestock, and a plurality of spaced-apart non-adhesive material which is in contact with the lower surface of the adhesive layer wherein the lower surface of the adhesive layer has a Sheffield roughness of at least about 10 and the adhesive article provides air egress. The invention also relates to methods of preparing the adhesive articles. These articles have usefulness as industrial graphics images, as well as decorative coverings, etc. The articles provide air egress and optionally repositionability and slideability.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an adhesive sheet comprising a resin film and an adhesive layer adhering to one side of said resin film, wherein the adhesive sheet does not cause significant shrinkage when it is stored together with a release liner thereon for a prolonged time. The adhesive sheet of the present invention is an adhesive sheet comprising a resin film and an adhesive layer adhering to one side of said resin film, characterized in that said adhesive layer has one or more grooves on a side opposite to a side on which said adhesive layer adheres to said resin film, and said groove or grooves exist only in an inner area of said opposite side of said adhesive layer and are not open at side surfaces of said adhesive layer. The present invention also provides a release liner for an adhesive sheet having embosses on its surface and being good in smoothness.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of polymer film graphics comprising providing a continuous substrate having a release layer thereon; applying an image layer in the shape of a graphic letter or design to the release layer; depositing an adhesive layer to the image layer and which has the same shape as the image layer graphic letter or design; curing the adhesive and image layers; and winding the polymer film graphics onto rolls. The invention further relates to a polymer film graphic comprising a substrate having an upper surface and a lower surface; a release layer overlying the upper surface of the substrate; an image layer in the shape of a graphic letter or design overlying the release layer; an adhesive layer overlying the image layer, the adhesive layer having the same shape as the image layer graphic letter or design.
Abstract:
Methods of making adhesive articles providing air egress by supplying a route for the air to flow out from under the construction are described. One method includes providing a release liner comprising a moldable layer having a release surface and a back surface; applying a first pattern of a first non-adhesive material to a first portion of the release surface; applying a second pattern of a second non-adhesive material to a second portion of the release surface, wherein the second pattern partially overlaps the first pattern; embedding at least one of the first or second non-adhesive materials into the moldable layer, and transferring an adhesive layer having a front and back surface and end edges onto the release liner, wherein the front surface of the adhesive layer is adhered to the release surface of the release liner.
Abstract:
The invention includes a package reclosing strip, and the combination of a package and the reclosing strip detachably secured thereto for closing the package after opening and removal of some of the contents. The package is formed from a web of packaging material and has a closed body with height, width, opposite ends defining the package height therebetween, and a package reclosing strip comprising in one embodiment a film strip extending longitudinally the height of the package, and a single faced adhesive coated tape longitudinally co-extensive with and laterally partially overlying and adhered to the film strip, the adhesive coated longitudinally extending portion of the tape not adhered to the film strip being adhered to the package body and detachably securing the strip thereto. A second embodiment of the reclosing strip comprises a film substrate and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer coated onto the full length and a widthwise portion of the film substrate strip. The reclosing strip is made of less expensive materials than the package material and that of prior art structures. Graphics can be printed on the film strip. which is laterally positionable on the package, and avoids adhesive contamination because it is not detached from the package.
Abstract:
An adhesive product which has excellent glue cutting performance and provides an excellent finish to the pasted portion while effectively maintaining security is provided. An adhesive layer 10 is formed through pattern application, where an adhesive 100 is intermittently placed on the surface of a film 12, so that a broken paper phenomenon, such that the surface layer portion of a flap F1 or the vicinity of opening F2 adheres to the surface of the adhesive layer 10, and a white envelope F is ripped in the direction of the thickness, can be caused when a peeling movement for peeling the flap F1 from a state where the white envelope F is sealed via the adhesive layer 10.
Abstract:
A method of detackifying an edge face of a roll of pressure sensitive adhesive tape, the method including coating an edge face of the roll of tape with a composition comprising acrylate oligomer, and polyetheracrylate oligomer, and curing the composition.
