Abstract:
In an illumination device, a light guide is adapted to emit the light from a face thereof and is provided with an area, on a face opposite to the light emitting face, for diffusing and/or reflecting the light introduced into the light guide from an end face thereof or is provided with uneven light emitting characteristics along the longitudinal direction of the light guide, and the center of the light source positioned at the end of the light guide is placed at a position aberrated from the normal line to the area, whereby attained are compactness, a low cost, a low electric power consumption, a high efficiency of utilization of the light emitted by the light source, and excellent and uniform illumination characteristics. An image reading device and an information processing apparatus can also be equipped with the above-mentioned illumination device.
Abstract:
A lighting device includes a light source that illuminates an object of illumination, a reflecting member provided opposite the light source so as to direct a first part of illuminating light emitted therefrom to the object of illumination, and a light-blocking member provided between the light source and the object of illumination and between the reflecting member and the object of illumination. The light-blocking member blocks the first directed part of the illuminating light and a second part of the illuminating light directly illuminating the object of illumination with a certain ratio of a light-blocking rate for the first directed part of the illuminating light to a light-blocking rate for the second directly illuminating part of the illuminating light.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for encoding a signal of a wireless communication system, the method comprising dividing a current frame of the signal into a plurality of GOBs (Groups of Blocks) each having a certain size, determining whether a current GOB to be encoded of the plurality of GOBs is a first GOB of the current frame, calculating a control parameter value of the current GOB according to whether the current GOB is the first GOB of the current frame, controlling an encoding bit rate of the current GOB according to the control parameter value, and encoding the current GOB. Preferably, a hybrid method wherein an inter-frame GOB update method and an intra-frame GOB update method is used, so that a bit rate change between frames is reduced and data transmission of a channel is efficiently made to therefore provide a user with optimum image quality.
Abstract:
A contact image sensor module has a light source, at least one reflective element and a photoelectric conversion element. The photoelectric conversion element is arranged between the light source and the reflective element, such that the light from the light source is directed toward the manuscript. The reflective element receives the light reflected from the manuscript, and then the light is reflected back to the manuscript. The photoelectric conversion element receives light directed from the light source and the reflective element toward the manuscript, and then the light is converted into an electric signal, thus eliminating the dark band problem of the manuscript.
Abstract:
An image reader for reading an image drawn on a paper or a sheet-like recording medium, an image processor provided with the image reader, such as a copying machine, a scanner and the like, and a fiber lens to be applied to those devices. The image processor has to be large in the whole size of device to read both sides of an original. Therefore, the image processor of the present invention comprises an image reader (10a) on the upper side of transport path and an image reader (10b) on the lower side of that respectively. In order to downsize the device, it is necessary to shorten the diameter of optical fiber (140) of the fiber lens (14) installed in the imager reader as light receiving means. In this case, the optical fiber (140) is provided with a light-absorbing layer 8 (143) around of the optical fiber (140) in order to restrain the crosstalk and the flare phenomenon. The illuminance of light source means (15) installed in the image reader gets smaller as the device is downsized. In case where the illuminance is small, the image quality is deteriorated by the floating of the original. Accordingly, the image reader should be provided with the light source means so as to uniform the illuminance over a specific width of the main and sub scanning directions. Therefore, it is possible to avoid the deterioration of the image quality.
Abstract:
A line-illuminating device comprises a white casing, a bar-shaped light guide housed within the casing, and light-emitting units provided on opposite ends of the bar-shaped light guide. The light-emitting unit has a substrate forming a circuit on which a lead wire for power supply is installed. Formed on a surface of the substrate facing the bar-shaped light guide is a window for coupling in which a green-color light-emitting diode and a blue-color light-emitting diode are installed. Likewise, the light-emitting unit has a substrate on which a lead wire for power supply is installed. Formed on a surface of the substrate facing the bar-shaped light guide is a window for coupling in which two red-color light-emitting diodes are installed.
Abstract:
An image reading imaging optical system for imaging image information on a line sensor and reading the image information has an imaging optical element including a plurality of off-axial reflecting surfaces differing in the direction of incidence and the direction of emergence of a reference axis ray from one another and having curvatures.
Abstract:
Connections from a client to respective ones of a plurality of application instances that receive data from a shared communication protocol stack are assigned by defining an affinity between the client and a corresponding one of the plurality of application instances. Connection requests received from the client at the shared communication protocol stack are assigned to the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances if an affinity is defined between the client and the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances. Connection requests received from the client at the shared communication protocol stack are distributed to selected ones of the plurality of application instances if an affinity is not defined between the client and the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances.
Abstract:
A lens array 4 is formed as an erect 1:1 imaging lens by superimposing two lens plates 40 and 40 together. Each lens plate 40 consists of a number of micro lenses 41 which are regularly provided at a predetermined pitch and in a two-dimensional manner. This lens plate 40 is for example made by press molding the ultraviolet curing resin in a soft condition using a transparent mold and by irradiating the ultraviolet light on the ultraviolet curing resin from outside for hardening. Since the lens array 4 is provided with micro lenses 41 in rows in a sub-scanning direction, deterioration of an amount of light level resulting from the displacement between a light axis of the lens and an image sensor 6 is not generated.
