Transparency media adapter and methods of using the same. Implementations of a system may comprise an imaging device having a light source and at least one sensor. A media adapter operatively associated with the imaging device includes a first reflective surface and a second reflective surface arranged to shift light emitted by the light source to a predetermined focus point of the at least one sensor during an imaging operation.
Abstract:
An integrated image module for a document scanner includes a one piece die cast housing having a datum element and a support element. An imaging sensor array is enclosed in the housing. An array bias element urges the imaging sensor array against the datum element to provide accurate placement of the sensor array relative to the housing. A transport mechanism is attached to the housing so that the position of the transport mechanism accurately corresponds to the position of the imaging sensor array. The lens and the lamp for illumination are also attached to the housing so that the primary components of the imaging portion of the scanner are contained in a single module.
Abstract:
A lens array unit includes first and second lens arrays cooperative with each other. The first lens array is provided with a plurality of first convex lenses and a first transparent holder formed integral with the first lenses. Each of the first lenses has first and second lens surfaces. The second lens array is provided with a plurality of second convex lenses and a second transparent holder formed integral with the second lenses Each of the second lenses has third and fourth lens surfaces. The second lens array is attached to the first lens array so that the third lens surfaces face the second lens surfaces. The lens array unit further includes a light shield mounted on the first lens array. The light shield is formed with a plurality of through-holes each facing the relevant one of the first lens surfaces.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a light guide for guiding light from a light source in a longitudinal direction and radiating the light to illuminate an object to be illuminated, which includes a diffuser for diffusing the light from the light source along the longitudinal direction of the light guide, and a radiator for radiating the light diffused by the diffuser in a predetermined direction. By arranging the diffuser and the radiator so that a normal line passing through the center of the width of the diffuser is different from the predetermined direction at least in the vicinity of the light source when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the light guide, the illuminance distribution of the longitudinal direction of the light guide is uniformed.
Abstract:
An optical chassis of plating film layer reflection and its manufacturing procedure, the optical chassis includes: a shell body, a light source, plural reflection elements, a lens set, and an imaging apparatus. The reflection elements made of glass material in the prior art are changed to a layer or multi-layer of plating films of reflection material which are directly coated on the inside walls of the shell body of an optical chassis and used as the reflection elements thereof. Also, the shell body is designed as a structure for easy off-die and assembly. Not only the present invention completely gets rid of the prior positioning devices for glass mirrors, such as spring pieces, screws, and the like, but also it decreases the number of parts, saves assembly time and lowers the production cost. And, further it is without lowering the quality of image scanning, which is resulted from no loose or no movement of the reflection elements.
Abstract:
A sensor frame for an image sensor is manufactured in the step of forming a sensor frame for an image sensor by extrusion molding so that a frame support portion for supporting the frame is formed above a lens array holding portion, and the step of removing the thus-formed sensor frame support portion by machining while leaving parts of the support portion located at the longitudinally corresponding to the upper ends of the lens array holding portion. Accordingly, machined surfaces subjected to the machining exist outside the hollow space where the sensor ICs are located.
Abstract:
A lens unit (U15) includes a housing (45), an upper and a lower lens arrays (A1null, A2null), and a first and a second prisms (4A, 4B). Each of the lens arrays includes a plurality of lenses, a light-shielding member (4), and a plurality of positioning projections, all of which are integral with each other. Downwardly traveling light which enters the housing (45) through a first slit (45c) formed at an upper portion of the housing (45) is directed upward by the first prism (4A) to pass through the two lens arrays (A1null, A2null). The light is then directed downward by the second prism (4B) to exit the housing through a second slit (45d) formed at a lower portion of the housing (45).
Abstract:
A contact image sensor (CIS) for scanning a document is disclosed. The CIS includes a housing having an opening, a first slide and a second slide, a light guide installed on the housing through the opening and the first slide for scanning the document and generating a reflective image, a rod lens installed on the housing through the opening and the second slide for receiving the reflective image and generating a focused image, a PCB installed on the housing and having a sensing array for transforming the focused image into an image signal, and a spring cover fixed on the opening for fixing the light guide and the rod lens in the housing to form the CIS.
Abstract:
In a contact-type image sensor according to the present invention, a protrusion is formed in a transparent plate, a recess is formed in a sensor frame, and the transparent plate is engaged with the sensor frame so that the heights of surfaces of the transparent plate and the sensor frame on sides of conveying a manuscript are substantially the same. In conventional techniques, it was necessary to bend a manuscript conveying path because of different heights of a protrusion of the frame and the transparent plate. Further, even though the heights of the sensor frame and the transparent plate are the same, a contact portion therebetween forms an angle, whereby a contact surface is not brought into close contact alone an entire length of an image sensor, and gaps are partially formed in the contact surface. Therefore, at time of cleaning a surface of the transparent plate using a solvent such as alcohol to remove dirt on the transparent plate, the solvent and extraneous matters intrude inside the image sensor from the gaps, a passage of light is obstructed, and therefore light-and-shadow information of an image of the manuscript was not correctly transmitted to sensor.
